Alina Zagitova

Thank you for all of your 'on the ground' reporting!! :)

Pleasure is mine. :)

I want to translate the VK-post of Natalya Makarova, woman in a puffy skirt, MC of today's master-class, because these are really beautiful thoughtful words:

My heart was burning with the gratitude for this victory! And I wanted to say "thank you" to beautiful, gentle and very strong Alina Zagitova in person. Two years before the Olympics the girl broke her arm in two places and her leg. She learned to walk again. She went out at the rink like the first time. And she coped with it! And it is worthy of respect. I bow my head.
The second picture is Alina's mother, Leysan Zagitova. Look at this beautiful and delicate woman. I'm afraid there's no measure for all the energy, resourses, heart and soul she invested in her daughter the Olympic Champion. I bow my head again.
Amazing family. What strength of spirit. What faith and aspiring to the top results. What power. Bravo!
I'm so happy that I was able to express our gratitude, admiration, delight to gorgeous Alina.
Don't believe all those gossiping and envious people, you are the best! You are the first in the country, first at the Olympics, first in the planet!

Natalya's words are special to me because I used to know her many years ago. We worked together in a summer camp and she was my boss. She was really great and taught me a lot. At that time her opinion was important to me and I'm glad that our thoughts about Alina are the same. Yes, Izhevsk is a small town and everyone knows everyone.

I'm beginning to understand more why Alina answered "Izhevsk" when asked what her is her ideal vacation place. What a lovely town filled with lovely people. In addition to her amazing family, and extended family, it's easy to see that growing up there helped shape her wonderful character that makes her so admirable.

Thank you for sharing all this!

Thank you for translating this wonderful post. Your reporting is top notch and we are lucky to have you among us. You're lucky to have worked with such a kind person and I'm sure you had a great time with her.

Alina sure had an emotional and very fulfilling day back in her hometown. You live in a lovely city and at over 630.000 inhabitants it is quite big, when I googled it before I realized I heard quite a lot about it in the late 80s, when it was called by its former name. When you look at a map of Russia you really feel small, your country is huge.

I'm glad the origin of the apartment became more clear, if I were a successful business person in your city (or in Russia) I would be honored to give a deserving person like Alina a gift that can be life changing and help her whole family.

:thank:

Thus - the two sisters are now "Cover Girls" on a Japanese magazine.

That is soooooo cool :yahoo:

Masaru is already making history, I'm happy for the Akita Inu society too, all this publicity will surely help their cause.

Now all we need is a cover of Alina and Masaru together, well since Iriska and Zefirka are already well known in Japan maybe we can have a foursome cover. Maybe when Alina is in Japan for The Ice?

My heart -
(Scroll down to see all the videos! The Japanese media are hoarding cute moments and releasing them bit by bit! Priceless moment of Iriska stalking out of the room with her ears back - so done with this situation! :laugh2:)

Also from twitter -

I wonder what’s it like to say “I want to get a dog” in an interview and have it trigger a chain of events ending in the Prime Minister of Japan showing up with a puppy.

I just died and went to doggy heaven.

Japan TV shows play their cards close, they know we want to see more, and we know they have more.

Apparently Alina said (or they imagined ) that she wants to skate with Masaru, here are the results of a Japanese morning tv show's renderings of this pairs skate https://www.instagram.com/p/BjVkFyqFTbQ

Edited to add: Iriska looking at Masaru on the bed....:laugh2: "really, you take my bed too !?!".
