It looks like Javier Fernandez is doing neck bridges - nobody can call him a "pencil-neck geek" :cool14:
Yes - more game shows for Alina - she'll be fine now that she knows the rules for curling!
Meant to mention earlier, that’s not Javi, heavy Javi vibe in that scene right there though.
That’s the encore challenge she had on that one foot spin around. She picked the guy they called Sunshine (same guy she lost to on her first go).
Bringing up another subject: I would love to see Alina do more spirals in her programs. Mao had the best spirals ever, and among current ladies the Japanese girls pick up her mantle quite well.
Alina has such great natural ability I think if she was allowed to explore it more she would really rock it too. Case in point, her great layback spin, she evolved so well on it.
It's difficult to convert my thoughts into words but what I meant is that she is less likely to sell performance to a romantic/lyrical music perfectly. Because she's too playful for it. And I don't think that it is necessary to do because an abstract program, suiting her personality, will make her stand out from the rest. I will try to explain my idea with the following example:

Alina - the best execution of movements, great control of her blades, beautiful extensions and softnesshowever, in terms of interpretation it kind of leaves me cold, it just seems that her head (thoughts) is elsewhere, there's not really a connection to the music
Evgenia - rather simple choreo, but she is a great lyrical interpreter, she catches every musical accent and obviously enjoys skating to this music (and shows her enjoyment)
Kaetlyn - although she looks fit and is not the typical example for an ice princess, she has the maturity to express the softness of the song

I think the difference is obvious. Alina seems so genuine happy because the music matches her natural playfulness.
Also, this is not really a critic about her as a skater and a performer because she's good. Every skater has a different personality and can interpret different sorts of music. This leads to diversity in the sport which is great. And this is only my very subjective opinion![]()
I've come to the conclusion that the best part of Alina's skating is not just the 3Lz-3Lo combination but her general ability to execute jumps with almost no preparation for them, which doesn't destroy the choreography and gives a feeling of completeness. I re-watched her Tiger Ex and was amazed how much transitions she did one after another without any stumble. Also, she stands out with a very specific type of skating that is rather rare on the senior circuit - although her skating skills are not perfect yet, there is some kind of a natural elegance and softness in her movements. She really moves like a cat
She's more of a sensual person, who won't speak about their feelings but I think she could incorporate them well in her skating if the music is right. They need a piece with some mystic vibes (like her EX) but not too lyrical, or something dramatic and frantic (Step seq in her SP). Maybe some asian music would be also suitable. I can totally imagine her skate to Yuzuru's Seimei or Satoko's Memoirs of a Geisha. But please no romantic music, she's too exotic for it. :roll5:
Photo of Alina and Daria, I haven't seen it before so posting it here...

Still pining for new photos and one with the pink ball!
Especially now during their training camp...no goodies for us. But that shows her involvement and her work ethics. :luv17:Same here...I am waiting for off-season days to pass faster.Especially now during their training camp...no goodies for us. Nobody's asking me )) I am not Olympic champion![]()

I suppose their team is also limiting their figure skating-relating posts, especially from their trainings or program rehearsals![]()

i am more interested in that than to see what Masuru is doing (no offence Masaru).
