Alina Zagitova

Comparisons are fine but in a reasonable way. KK is the definition of totally not reasonable which is why his/her videos are mostly banned over the forums. And comparisons don‘t include the kind of nastiness that occurs in the YT comment sections. Whether it’s about Alina or Evgenia or Adelina doesn‘t matter, it just shouldn‘t happen.

Anyway, this has absolutely nothing to do in here, so let‘s focus on something else, shall we? What kind of costums do you think Alinka will get this season? I‘m hoping for something red again. It just looks amazing on her! Or a more classic, elegant black dress. :luv17: I know she‘ll look amazing whatever she‘s wearing but what‘d you say goes best for our little Carlina*?

*I know I sound like a broken record but Daniil better make that program outstanding! I want unique Carmen-Alina!!

I don’t know about Carmen, but POTO... I hope the costume will be all about Christine Daae, you know? And not something that immediately reflects Phantom of the Opera like some skaters do. For exemple, Kanako Murakami and Yuhana Yokoi with “black and white” or “black and white with red” dresses. I think, for Alina, Christine Daaé’s look fits more. And she was stunning with the white dress from Stars on Ice finale number. I hope it will be something like that.

I agree. It becomes almost impossible to negate the truth that these two Russians are both unbelievable skaters and deserved everything they achieved. :agree:
I meant the truth, that Alina skated better than Evgenia and won her gold medal deservingly.

Joy peeps, one last day to wait for July 28th (The Ice) and hopefuls tons of Alina in Japan content. And Alina’s new SP debut.

Oops - I think you are ahead of yourself - 11 days to wait

Still - it is getting much closer!!!!

Lusk8 got me all excited!

There was some mention about an event autograph signing on 22 July - does anyone know if that is happening? Then it's 4 days to go!

lmao i have reported that channel so many times idk how they're still up!

I was watching some Carmen programs on youtube to get ready for Alina skating to it! what is your favorite Carmen ever? :scratch2:

I personally don't like Carmen but since the music was already chosen, i chose to stay positive and trust Daniil. After all, he's done many beautiful programs. I adored Alina's black swan and liked don quixote. People can cry all the want about the 0-7 backloading but the program was made for olympic season to grab the maximum amount of points and it achieved its goal. Daniil is able to create great choreos that can show the skater's personality and emotions, i've loved his programs for Tarakanova. Alina has expressed her wish to show more mature skating, they'll take that into consideration and guide her through growing as a skater.

From the ladies, Sasha Cohen's, Alina is pretty flexible I wouldn't mind if she got inspiration from this program :)

Jawn... I knew exactly what you meant🤦🏻*♀️ Alina won deservedly and nobody here questioned it. Honestly, what do you even want? I‘m just glad that I love both of them, so doubled chance to be happy after a competition and a win.

Autograph session on 22 of July is canceled , but 21 of July Alina is a special guest of Sabantui 2018 festival , the organizers promised an ice rink
and , of course , autographs for fans :)

P.S.
Olympic champion Alina Zagitova will participate in Tatar-Bashkir festival on July 21. She will conduct a masterclass for guests of the event. There also will be masterclasses of VC Zenit and HC Ak Bars and Salavat Yulaev. The event will take place at the Kolomenskoye State Museum-Reserve in Moscow on July 21 and starts at 13 p.m.The size of the event is 200 thousand square metres. This area will consist of authentic Tatar and Bashkir villages, oriental fair, national marquee alley "Kind neighbours street", side-shows, exhibitions and masterclasses of sport and show business stars. I hate youtube comments....

I have actually replied to nasty comments that go back a few years ---- I know the offending party will never see it - but it makes feel better anyway.

Actually - "comments sections" anywhere on the internet are usually bad (even "respected" sites like NY Times, the major networks, etc....)

As Winston Churchill said once: "5 minutes of conversation with an average voter will make you doubt about the reason of democracy"

And that's why I like Alina's fanfest so much. People here are normal in the best sense of the word.

Do you think Alina will introduce any new spin positions this season? Which one would you like her to perform?

I don't want anything, I'm just expressing my opinion: the video helps to see the differences between two skates and superiority of the winning performance, which resonated in comment section.
You're welcome to disagree and discuss my observation, just please don't try to stop me from expressing it. Peace. :)

Peace is always good. :) I thought the video useful, too actually for KK standards at least. I‘m not going to disagree with you at all because disagreeing would mean I don‘t think Alina deserved to win which is absolutely not the case. Little Alinka is a fabulous Olympic Champion! What I was saying was mainly that the video once again made clear how Alina and Evgenia were truly in their own league, fighting only each other and themselves for the gold. Alina came out here on top and it was well deserved, however it could easily have gone otherwise, ice is slippery after all. But other than those two in 1st and 2nd? Very, very unlikely. Worlds shows it again - the title was Alina‘s to loose. She didn‘t lose it because others were suddenly better than her, it was because she couldn‘t fight her nerves.

Which I believe is only going to help her anyway, to go a bit off this topic. It was heartbreaking to watch but seriously, she‘s going to learn a lot from it and if she manages to stand up and continue to fight after such a major disappointment (which she will) she‘ll be much more confident in herself and her abilities in the future.

Only a couple of minor disagreements.

I think that Kaetlyn Osmond was also a very strong contender for Gold.

We don't really know why Alina had problems at Worlds - it may not have been nerves.

I don't want to speak for Tars, but maybe they are just expressing frustration at the number of "journalists" and "experts" that wrote that the "wrong Russian won" following the Olympics. Yes, Alina may not have the artistic and storytelling abilities of Evgenia, but let's not dismiss her technical prowess - not just the difficulty of what she did, but also the way she executed those elements.

We do know actually. It was because she couldn't recover fast enough after her illness as well as she was very exhausted physically and morally after Olympics.

Kaetlyn would have been a contender for the gold if both girls had made mistakes. Then and only then but really, if that had happened, everyone could have taken the gold. Kaetlyn is a fabulous skater who has achieved everything there is to achieve (Worlds title, all three medals at the Olympics...) but she didn’t have a program as strong technically as either Alina or Evgenia and she is often prone to making minor mistakes like step-outs.

You are right, we can never be completely sure why Alina faltered but to me she just looked exhausted and I think it was both mentally and physically.

Yes, I do know what journalism you are talking about and I can totally understand the frustration. I mean, I also get why people were sad that Evgenia lost after everything she did those past two seasons but dismissing Alina‘s victory like that especially when she won fair and square is just not right, I agree with that. I usually don‘t mind TAT but I believe she actually said to Alina‘s dad „sorry we like Zhenya more“ and that is unforgivable. The Russians should be more glad than angry anyway - they got the gold and silver medal in ladies‘ skating as well as the silver team medal.

Camera angle my a..! :scowl:

Where did the lovely hamster cheeks go?! She looks thinier than 13yo Yasmina. :sad21::sad4:

I thought I saw some hamster cheeks... anyway, any picture of Alina is cute and adorable
