So, is this her free skate? No more backloading of the 3lz-3lo? Or it's only for the show? Sorry, I've been busy in the last couple of days and couldn't keep up

This is her new SP (FS will the Carmen), she did her difficult combo (3Lz+3Lo) at the beginning and as first jump so I don't think it is back loaded. For now at least. Since this is a show maybe then have a few other things planned for the layout that were not done. Several of the guys performed their new SPs or FSs and their jump layout was definitely different from what they'll do in competition (some did no quads at all, some did no mandatory 3A).

lusk8, thank you. I thought Carmen would be SP and POTO FS, anyway it doesn't really matter. I was kind of surprised to see her mimicking at the beginning - it's definitely unusual for Alina but at the same time interesting because she's trying something different. The combo was stable, no worries for her condition.

I am sorry for the bad quality of the video (I hope we will soon receive more videos, with a better quality), but the skating in it it's impressive. I think it's gonna be a beautifully choreographed program.. that sound of broken glass gave me some chills and that 3Lz-3Lo combination... I want to see now the entire performance :luv17:

A few thoughts:

1) I WANT TO SEE THE WHOLE PROGRAM OMG
2) Calmy again: The program looks interesting, the musical arrangements sound unusual for the beginning of a POTO program. (Keep it up with Carmen, Daniil and I‘ll be happy. )
3) Was the sound of broken glass really in the video? I thought someone dropped a glass from the people watching in front of the TV. Oops, haha.

From what I could see of the SP, I liked it. The choreo at least during that time seems interesting and I also liked the music cut until that point. Looking forward to that program.

Hm, I must be the only person who actually enjoys a standard Carmen program... Looking forward to it. Hopefully no vocals.

It all comes down how the dress is designed. When she wore her tutus, the tights over the boots made her legs look longer which contributed to her balletic extensions, whereas the tights stucked in the boots made her legs look more bulky (if you remember that post-Olympic show where she performed the Swan SP). On the contrary, the normal dress from the bank advertisement was well combined with the tights in the boots and Alina's look was very pleasant.

As far as the latest show is concerned, yes.. the tights don't go well with that long white dress..but the dress itself doesn't fit her body because she's too small for it. And the blue dress is not great neither, hopefully she has better ones for the competitions.

I totally agree about the tights over the boots and the long white dress - it doesn't look good but I assume she had to change very quickly all the outfits (she has the blue dress, the white one, the leopard one and the black one for Denis Ten's tribute (?)). So maybe she decided to keep the tights this way for the final dance.

I am very intrigued about POTO - Daniil did a good job from what I saw, definitely not sounding like a warhorse!
Does someone recognize the first track? Unfortunately I couldn't find it...

About the blue dress - it looks more like Diana's style and not Alina's. I imagine Alina's POTO dress like a shorter, better-fitting version of the long white romantic dress for the dance with Shoma. Olga must still be working on the real dress. I imagine a lot of hand-made beautiful details.

About the blue dress - it looks more like Diana's style and not Alina's. I imagine Alina's POTO dress like a shorter, better-fitting version of the long white romantic dress for the dance with Shoma. Olga must still be working on the real dress. I imagine a lot of hand-made beautiful details.

I think they just didn't want to reveal her dress in a summer ice show. Plus their dress designer has been doing a fantastic job making dresses that fit the theme of the music. The black swan tutu with sequins that turn to black at the end, all the beautiful Anna karenina dresses, Alena's Adios Nonino was also really pretty in my opinion, even the Don Quixote tutu people hated was beautiful and fit the theme of her program. This dress has nothing to do with the POTO theme so i'm certain it won't be her competitive dress.

I totally agree...I loved all those dresses, Olga always made a great job in creating beautiful dresses, that really stand out. And now I think it will be no different...you can tell Alinka's team really worked hard for this program, to prepare her for the next season with a beautiful, different choreography, to improve her performance skills (and IMHO just that emotional ending pose is a really good indicator that she really evolved a lot :luv17, so she will have a beautiful dress made for her, too.

I remeber Eteri speaking about the Black Swan dress, how much she got involved in the dress-making process, explaining what she wanted and everything. It's really important for her, she pays attention to...everything

By all that is sacred ---- PLEASE NO VOCALS!!!!

I am optimistic because the SP appears to have no vocals --- and POTO lends itself to vocal versions more than Carmen would.

Eteri doesn't do that for the first time Evgenia's DQ dress, and also there was a black cocktail dress for a banquet after a competition that looked very similar to a dress Diana has. There was even a discussion here about it. Maybe they just have the same size and Diana has no problem to share some of her clothes when needed. Or maybe Alina really liked it and asked her to use it for this show?

Anyway, it's always interesting for me to see Alina dressed in colours that are not black or red, the green dress for the commercial was stunning. She could have used it for the show in Japan....

She does pay attention to the smallest details. I remember that documentary about Zhenya when she decided to change the Anna Karenina dress from the black one to the burgundy one cause she thought black would remind people that zhenya was injured ("it will create associations with a fracture" she said exactly). So i expect her to be creative with Alina's next dresses too.

I guess now we wait for The Ice broadcast and after that we'll only see her FS at open skates in september :sad21: it seems so far from now but Junior test skates & the beginning of JGP will keep us entertained until then

Beautiful skating

We can kind of "piece" together most of the SP because the video of Alina practicing shows the 2A and 3F and you can hear POTO in the background. It seems the familiar or "warhorse" theme will just be the final part of the program.
