Alina Zagitova

OMG I slept through the free skate competition. I thought it was later on, otherwise, I would've stayed up. :( But a new National Champion of Russia. Alina, I'm so happy for her!!

Team Zagitova! :ghug: Group hug guys, Alina fans unite.

I don't really get the part with the media (google translate says something about nose lol) Maybe someone native can help? Thanks.
Hi, I am not a Russian native speaker, but I understand Russian 90 % of the time.
The literal translation of the Russian phrase with the nose is "to turn up one's nose", which means "success go to one's head".
She is saying that she likes the attention, but she is trying to be grounded and not to let success go to her head.

Thanks a lot!:thank:

- Expectations at the beginning of the season coincided with what is happening to you now?

- Yes, while these are not so important competitions.

yeah, you know, GPF and Russian Nationals, just some meaningless competitions... whatever, really  :laugh2:

P.S. also, she is now unbeaten in a year, last time she lost to Medvedeva in Russian Nationals.. so they're both unbeaten for last year, someone's streak is gonna end at Euros :)

She won! With almost perfect free program and standing ovation, including from TAT.

Yes!!!! And she wasn't so terribly stressed before/during the FS! When I heard her saying after the SP that [because of nervousness] her legs were "a little bit shaking, trembling a little" before the combo, I really started to worry a lot about her... But she managed to calm herself down, and our Red Balerina looked very strong/confident during the final skate :)
