She says Alina skated well. That Alina should have gotten +5 GOE for her Lutz+ Loop combo (she said shame on the judges). She said Axel and Flip were a bit wobbly but still well done. She said Alina skated well for Olympic champion but she has still things to work on e.g. some of her PCs were low around 8~ish. She also loves Alina's dress she says Eteri has always the best dresses for her skaters.

Well, I don't like her but she took words out of my mouth. Agreed on all fronts!

Why do you always have to be so negative? From what I read here from other user's translations her words were very nice. No need to "compare words" or always bring in negativity. Why can't we just be happy that Alina skated so well and Tarasova has nice things to say about her? Honestly.

To give you a full translation:

"First of all, she's the Olymic Champion. It's great and just amazing to see that she's showing the highest class of elements at her first start. I would've given her a higher score for the first combo lutz-loop. The judges gave her a +3 or +4... sometimes I don't understand them. There're no URs and I find it strange that they didn't give her +5. It's the best execution of this element, there's no one who does it better in the whole world. I can say that for sure", Tarasova said on the phone.

She noted that Zagitova "swayed a bit" when performing her 3F, "but that's nothing". "After the 2A she also lost her balance a bit, but corrected herself. She's in great shape. Thin, very light, had a great training session. Her spins are an easy +4, +5 - no question about it. The step sequence is level 4, even if you'd want to improve it, you'd have to do just a bit", added the specialist.

"She's proving that she has the upper hand over everyone at her first start. That she's the OC. But her components are low. The elements are very impressive, but the components don't look as convincing, despite the fact that the judges have given her level 4 in her step sequence. She got 8-8.5 for her transitions. For her, that isn't much."

According to Tarasova, Zagitova "has things she can work on". "This is her first competition this season. And we can say that she gave a very good performance. She has a beautiful derss. Tutberitze always has good dresses. You can see that Alina likes her program. Likes the music, although I don't think anyone could dislike it. She has to continue in the same vein", noted the coach.

Well, it seems that I am not the only one who have that picture of TAT clearly sour grapes face expression after Alina's SP at test skates still in vivid memories (not to mention her talks after OG "we just love Zhenya more" and all). I would like to believe in TAT's honesty now, but I just don't. That is not negativity, that is realism.

Update: This is just how I see her :laugh:

You think it's okay what she do? giving that kind of statements? with very different range of support for "favourite girls" and "not favourite girls"? :sarcasm:

It's not negative, it's just stating an observation. Honestly, there's nothing wrong about it, you're overreacting. This is a fan fest, but only positivity about Alina is required, and OP was just comparing TAT's comments. Forums are a place of observations and discussions, not a mindless collection of "yay sooooo good". If you don't care for the other comments, that's fine, but that doesn't mean you completely disregard them.

An honest, fair, positive critique of Alina's performance from TAT! Is it Christmas? Did hell freeze over? The mind reels! It almost sounds as if TAT is giving Alina the credit she deserves. Long may it last!
