Guys, guys, guys.......you made my day.
After my initial posts right after the SP I had to go on a work overload so I missed like 10 / 15 pages of action.
Now I'm all caught up.
You are all truly the best: at being funny, choosing new avatars, pondering on weddings, analyzing programs and cheering for Alina.
TheBallerina and egoshina, I see you!!! I see you and I like you!!
I have great personal news: due to my extreme personal investment in Alina and incessant talk about this GP in the past 3 hours my husband decided he'll take the kids and go to my Mother-in-Law for lunch on his own. I'll watch Alina tomorrow live for sure. Alina is already saving a marriage (maybe arranging a few too

count on me for the champaign as suggested by TheBallerina).
Figure Skating Competitions are a rollercoaster emotional ride, when you are really invested, like we all are with Alina, even more so. I'm taking deep breaths and wishing her to be calm and happy tomorrow. Overthinking is not what she should do, she has to trust herself and see what we all see: that she is the greatest skater out there. Let it happen girl.
Her signature combo is here to stay, and of the three people currently performing it in competition on the circuit (Cha and Bradie are the other two) she is the super consistent one. This is probably as hard as a 3A, a different kind of hard but hard, there is a reason that, before she showed up, it wasn't attempted left and right like some of the other 3-3 combos. Which are also hard btw.
But you know what's harder: getting top placement on a SP without a 3-3 in today's field. And she earned every bit of her PCS and GOE's, and that invalid 1Lo cost her 3 points on the 3Lz (her -5 GOE tabbed onto the 3Lz value meant she ended up with the same score value for that element as the BV of her LSp4). And it cost her on PCS too, she should have gone above 9 in all counts on my book, her program performance and delivery were great I wouldn't have given her under 9 in anything here, specially the Transitions score.
But, like her Lara Croft she survived and now it is time to thrive.
I wish Alina a great Carmengitova tomorrow, be calm and have fun, when she is having fun (like at Japan Open) greatness just flows right out of her.
