I was a little shocked to see the young girls and their mothers swarm Eteri for autographs at the Sambo celebration. I knew she was popular, but I didn't know she was that popular. Even the 3A didn't get swarmed so badly. The popularity of Eteri is only below star skater Alina.

Oh saw some others painting from him (Tessa&Scott, Aliona&Bruno) but I did not know he is Aliona's husband. He is AMAZING!! Alina's painting is stunning. And fro Alina's reaction on her IG stories, I'm sure she will have one print proudly at home too. So much talent you need for such an amazing art - both Alina's & his.

[emoji23] kids trying to call Alina to cross in front of the Zamboni. Zamboni dude was having non of it.
She pointed and waited patiently, safety first for our girl.
Seeing her so at ease and comfortable with her rink mates, Sasha and Daniel, it’s great. They have an amazing training environment and considering Alina is such a caring girl and sensitive to the vibes around her she couldn’t be in a better place.
Alina and friends, stranded in middle of ice rink while hungry zamboni circles around and hungry fans stand behind the boards ready to attack.
The sound of the little children calling for Alina made me smile!

Three of last year's GPF ladies withdrew from the event this season, and two didn't make it in. Wow. Somehow that fact did not register with me until I saw that table.

Counting the ladies in the 2018 GPF: we have three Japanese ladies and three Russian ladies, three ladies 18 or older (though none over 21) and three ladies who are 16, two ladies who jump 3A and one who jumps it in combo, two Hamada girls and two Mishin girls, three ladies who qualified for Pyeongchang and two newly age eligible for seniors, one reigning Olympic champion, one reigning European champion, one reigning 4CC champion, two reigning National champions (of the two nations with the deepest ladies field at that!), two ladies who enter the GPF with only one loss this season (from the same competition) and two ladies who enter the GPF undefeated.
10 days until Alina defends her title!
