Alina Zagitova

Everybody here is proud!!!

I am way more proud than I could ever be, she trained hard for this, she did all her elements cleanly, got no tech calls, and she looked as tired as she should look traveling from a country 11 hours behind in time zone, on a 19 hour journey in coach just arriving the day before.

She is a miracle worker Alina, a true magician, to be able to execute her choreography elements (that are harder than most jumps), her jump entries (that, again, are the harder in the business) with the amount of emotion and skill that she did.

To me she is the only one to watch, the only one that matters, all I care about is that she has clean skates, good skates and to see her smile afterwards.

This program will only get better and it is already moving in a very narrow best between good and great, it will reach awesome.

Her placement is not the reason I like her, I like her because she is building the whole package and she is great. There is no limit to what she can do, there is no end to her bag of tricks.

What she has in prize no one can get for another 3 and some months years, no one can match that.

But more importantly, no one can match her charisma, the light that she shines that draws everyone in and makes us just want to sit and look at her.

Alina is the greatest!

Alina can do better, but she still looked great. It's no tragedy to be in the 2nd place behind Rika. Rika is an excellent skater, who has a 3A. And there is still a FP tomorrow.
I will remain positive no matter what. All those rude comments circulling around in the internet and even on some threads of this forum won't bring me down.

Look at this heart-warming laugh!

I don't know what some are talking about, I feel a good vibe from here. Alina skated clean, she was amazing and did her best. And we are all very proud of her, for me is a truly blessing just to be able to watch her.

And when we see her smiles at the end, it becomes 100000 better and for sure the perfect moment! [emoji173][emoji173]

+1000 !!! :cheer:

I wonder how many huge plushies Alina have, its like in every competition fans keeps giving her those. Its was literally a mood changer Alina was smiling when she saw a fan tossing it in the ice.😂😂😂

I'm so proud of our Olympic Champion! her performance was breathtaking, today Rika was stronger and it's not a shame to lose against stronger opponent. it was so nice to see Alina's smile when she saw big plushie.:luv17:

Alina said that she slept only 5 hours. And that she overslept! :eeking: She woke up only 3 minutes before the bus departure.
Alina understand that Kihira is a very strong opponent with difficult elements and that she herself should bring her absolute best, be squeaky clean with piercing emotions, to be able to rival Rika.

“I woke up three minutes before the bus, which was leaving for the competition.

I came after a workout, I slept for five or six hours. And I almost missed the bus. This was a very fun day for me.
I knew that in the Grand Prix Final there are six strongest athletes, and this final is one of the most difficult starts of the season. Therefore, tuned to a good skating.

A little bit I was nervous, maybe. Feet wadded were. I tried to get together, and the coaches helped me, but my skating was not the most ideal.

Now I am trying to do a lot of jumps to make my body jump and feel where and what needs to be changed, where to stretch, where, on the contrary, let go,

“I haven’t seen the protocols yet, so I don’t know what marks the judges gave me. I have completed all the elements, but I have not made them as easily as I can. With better skating, I can score more points ", ”said Zagitova.

Under these circumstances (oversleeping) it‘s even more impressively how she could pull that performance today.. just to get in the right mindset after such a start into the day (or for her rather into the middle of the night)

I think Alina already knew Rika with clean program and 3A would be hard to beat. Her own performance today was good given the circumstances and I'm sure she'll fight harder in FS. Main thing is that she was smiling. I am actually happy if Alina's main rival becomes Rika, it would drive her to even greater heights!

I can’t even be mad at Rika, her 3A was something!

I just hope Alina will be satisfied with her performance after the free, no matter the outcome :)

Alina has the best mind set, it’s great to see her smile, she should have some fun too and it’s great to see her doing it.

Her protocols were fine but reflected what she said, no tech calls but the GOE of the 3 jump passes could have been better. She kept her levels which was great.

PCS reflected it too, she should’ve been above the 9.00 in all counts for a great clean skate, here she only had two above and marginally so.

Life is lessons learned, Alina is a great student. First time this season that she was second in the SP, she has a great track record, this is part of life in sports and an honorable loss to a great presentation (seasons best of another skater) with an element she doesn’t perform.

I wish her a great Carmen, Nebelhorn or better yet Japan Open level of performance and execution.

It is necessary that she learned not only to win, but also to lose with dignity, without tragedies and tears.
it doesn't happen that you win all your life . Defeats can make a person stronger, I hope the coaches will be able to explain it to her

Absolutely ... and she delivered a clean performance(although some said that the combo was urr?!) under the pressure which is something...i still think she has the first chance to win after the free.
