Alina Zagitova

I would rather see NOT having any young athlete, hardly past child age, that burden on her private social media.

Puma and Shiseido are world wide brands, they have their own, more upmarket channels of advertisement and promotion of their brands.

I'd rather see Alina featured in glossy sports, beauty, fashion and life style magazines than her having to pump out increasingly meaningless social media postings every day.

Social media is neither a nice nor a safe place for children and teens.

Even with Alina's recent rise of the activity she is still one of the least social media active athletes. Also most of the pictures put on her insta account recently are older ones, from summer and off season, so no reason to write a thriller here

I don't think that at present she makes posts in IG by herself, Alina said that she stopped use social media so it's someone else (mom, manager or Daniil).

Hopefully Alina has a manager now taking care of things like maintaining a professional nice and clean profile on the social medias that are public.

Of course she can and probably will have strictly private social media to communicate with her parents, sister and relatives, known friends and trusted third parties.
I assume she is no different than any other 16 year old in this respect? It is mostly the anonymous 'fans' that post comments you'd rather not see on the public social media of a celebrity, and a media manager should take care of removing those ASAP.

For many young (child- and adolescent age) sportspersons it is difficult to separate public from private life without proper media training.
Children are all bound to make mistakes, i.e. Shabotova, but should learn from them.

Sorry, but you're wrong again. Alina said that she stopped use social media before the competition. And she makes posts in IG by herself, but some people help her with the translation.

I hope Alina rebounds at worlds. Like for her to end her season on a high note especially with the new crop of skaters coming up next season.

I think she really wants to re writte her worlds from last year and to be on the podium no matter the medal. I hope to see her compete at world team trophy too.

This is everything I want for her. To have a beautiful skate that gives Carmen the Carmengitova send off it deserves. To feel good about her season with all its twists and turns and ups and downs. To make good memories of Worlds.

I would love to see her on the podium with a medal. More than anything I want to see her happy and proud of herself.

Alina deserves this and I believe that she can make it happen.

Many little Alinas... super cute!

Alina's old coaches are so proud of her :hap10:

I love how Alina has kept a great relationship with her former coaches. I remember Antipina said in an interview that Alina would visit her every time she returned to Izhevsk, and she always watches all of Alina's performances, even stopping training sessions and getting the entire group to watch if necessary

So it should be. Alina is Antipina's star pupil and she is rightfully proud of having played her part in bringing Alina to this level. Alina herself is still so young that any little skater girl can still relate to her as an older sister. This culture of 'podrugi po komande' is also well developed in rhythmic gymnastics, perhaps because girls by nature are more supportive and appreciative of each other, compared to the male competitiveness?

Agreed. Well said Ed.
