Alina Zagitova

I think it would be a good social pychological PR move to just put out an announcement on instagram saying basically "I've achieved all I need but wish to keep going. It's inevitable that I'll be beat sometimes but that's ok. I plan to keep going while I'm able to win Grand Prix medals or until I feel fulfilled and there's someone good enough to replace me."

A statement like this would preempt dumb comments that may come her way that could hurt her psychologically in the future... and it sends a message to her fans and sponsors that sets expectations which will make it more likely they'll stick with her while she's still competitive.

I remember Weaver & Poje were asked if they were going to retire when Virtue & Moir came back because it was pretty obvious they were going to lose their spot as Canada's #1 team. I'll never forget Kaitlyn calmly stating - We aren't afraid to lose.

I was impressed with that attitude and it stayed with me.

I hope Alina feels a greater sense of freedom next season. I know she is far too competitive to be completely zen about it. I know she wants to win but I hope she can feel a sense of personal victory without the weight of expectations on her shoulders.

People are waiting for the 3A team to come out and win all the medals but I think Alina will still be a threat. I also think she will be appreciative of medals of any color. As she should be. That's good sportsmanship.

I also like her attitude of - I'll do it first and then I'll tell you about it. - She is not making any empty promises.

I know everyone wants to be on the side that's winning, but I think Alina's incredible accomplishments, her youth, beauty, charm and modesty will keep her sponsors interested. Even if she can't win all the time, people can still relate to that.

It helps tremendously that she's already won everything there is to win and she is not overexposed in the Russian media. I mean ftlog she is about to make her first (!) appearance on a Russian entertainment TV show! There is a whole segment of the population about to get to 'know' Alina for the first time!

You are killing it today with fire and facts and your posting ilike I've never seen before. Youare a bit edgier than normal Finley and I like it. and I understand why you're posting is edgier today all the people talking about Alina is done or needs to retire or she's accomplished everything and nothing else to do. It is annoying a lot of us. I'm good for her skating as long as she wants as long as she's healthy and her knees are okay and she's competitive and I expect that to be for the next few years. As you have said winning any medal is a fine accomplishment.

Best summary of this matter I've ever read. :clapper::clapper::clapper:

Hi Alina’s fanfest! I was just wondering, do any of you know if she will continue skating competitively next season? I was under the assumption she would, but I don’t know. I know this season wasn’t easy for her and she has accomplished all of her goals now. :yes2: I’m just curious about what her next steps are.

The last any of us have heard from her she plans to continue with her competitive career. We all hope she does, but things can change and anything can happen. So fingers crossed and hoping for the best!

Also, Daniil stated Alina's programs are decided already. And Alina promised us "new Alina" in the upcoming season. Whatever will happen in the future, for now I can honestly say in this moment there is no plan for her to miss the next season.

"New Alina" this is getting me excited. I cannot wait to see hints of her new programs. Daniil usually gives us some teasers :D maybe something lyrical or powerful? <3
