Alina Zagitova

Stopping by to say congratulations to Alina! A clean short! Finally!   And wow, was it spectacular! Best of luck in the free! :agree: :cheer: :clapper:

She's been able to constantly improve her SP throughout the season. Now it's looking very good already. In fact, if she also skates it clean in Olympics I wonder if they're going to try going back to her original 2A entry during the world championships? It's a big shame she had to drop it, I really liked that entry. It'll be very interesting to see how she's able to handle the pressure of being ahead after the SP when it comes to her FS. But considering how the FS has been in the past, I really expect her to have a very clean performance and that could actually be very interesting with the Olympics in sight. She's really been making a case for herself.

Wow, she finally nailed that SP! Well done!

i also feel like the reason she performed SP so well is that she understands that she has absolutely no room for mistakes since Medvedeva is here :) probably that motivates her even more

What a fabulous performance! At last so beautifully clean SP skate! I think it helps she's "at home". She needed this all so much to gain more confinence. And she really looked strong and confident.
Now the FS. Hopefully we will see flawless Red Ballerina, like in Grenoble. :)

What I loved about today's skate was that she has been constantly fighting hard and developing technically this SP and when she finally came to terms with it, the artistry and expression suddenly appeared as well!

I think, it was very important skate for her career, no matter what the final outcome is. Bravo, Alina! :clapper:

You guys! I’m still trying to absorb Alina’s perfect short program. I think she can say at the end of it, “I was perfect”

We need this at the Olympics. :ghug:

This victory strenghtened the soul of Alina!

Without a doubt, the best skater this week. Medvedeva couldn't do anything to beat her. She truly deserve the title.

Well, I guess boys from the class are going to recognize her now. :agree:

Congratulations Alinochka! :clapper:

Happy for Alina WOW what a skate.:hap57::points::thank:
Next gold in south-Korea.
She have been skate to my heart this season.

Alina: "I feel joy and relief. I'm very happy to have managed to skate both programs cleanly. I will try to hold this bar. I am happy, but now I have to aim to win in a bigger competitions.

Thanks everyone who rooted for me, thanks to my coach for her patience. I would rate my performance as good, there were flaws, which we have already discussed with the coaches. I will try to fix them."

Concerning Pyeongchang: "I will do everything possible - to skate cleanly and to share my emotions with the crowd. I don't know yet what to expect, I'm just glad to be going to the Olympics."
