Alina Zagitova

Eteri - “do not bother me” - did she say that when she skated away from Alina (20:42), or was it towards the end when 2 of them were at the boards?

That was the end of Eteri's statement of what Alina's face looked like to here. According to Eteri, Alina had a "I'm going to fall, don't stand on my way" kind of face, meaning it was obvious she wasn't quite sure about her jump

Oh oh, I see. I tot she was fed up and told Alina not to bother her. Thanks for clarifying!

I looked back at my internet history and I found it!!!!
First is a picture of the card - if you run your mouse across the picture a little arrow shows up on the right side of the picture about 2/3 or the way down. Click this arrow and it will bring you to the video.

Wow, thanks guys for the amazing links to pictures and videos.

The gifts were really creative and so kind, flowers for all the important people in her life in Moscow, that 3D card and the cube of pictures are just amazing (so beautifully done, true works of art).

I'm so happy for the fans that got to have this moment with Alina, and also for her, I believe it's a very important part of motivation to see how much people are moved by what you do.

Figure Skating is such a demanding sport (hence the work day on a Sunday until late hours), very competitive with people nipping at your heels every year creating the need to constantly outdo yourself to remain on top, that I think finding that others like what you do to such an extend (to go meet you, make great personalized gifts, etc) is probably a great added incentive to keep excelling and working hard. Alina has a super strong internal motivation, her life goals, making her family proud, and now she can also have a boost of external motivators in the fans.

New documentary ( mostly about Zenja)

Alina 20:15 -21:10

Eteri -
what are you doing ? Your face tells everyone that you will now fall on the ice, do not bother me. What kind of suffering do you have on your face, explain. You do not even try, everything says that you'll fall right now

22:00 - 23:15 Daniil mother - Ljudmilla Shalashova ,former ballerina

49:05 - 49:32 Like a boss :shocked::slink:

I need to watch that doc...but it'll have to be later tonight for me. They took down the video, boy they work fast, was able to find link and it still works as of now https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eHkdVdOEZxo

Thank you so much EdRoz for the video and your wonderful translations of Alina's bits.

On Jan, 2018, Eteri (and a bunch of other coaches) gave an interview to IceNetwork revealing their secrets for handling their elite athletes, this is what Eteri said about Alina then: "Take Alina, for instance. She is so 'girly,' She knows that she is pretty. She notices that she is being looked at. For several years, I tried to get her feminine qualities (to come) out, through her music and the feel for her body. Maybe I did too much! (She laughs.) She has managed to take all the changes that have taken place and internalize them. Her body talks, even when she skates poorly -- it means that she has something to tell us. Our job is to find out what is bothering her."

She is right, Alina is very feminine, and she worked well with that in all her programs, and, again like she said, Alina is very introspective and keeps things to herself, so they have to read her body movements and how she is moving across the ice to see what is bothering her.

And Eteri is a genius, she doesn't stop to surprise me...

Thanks, and thanks heaps for the translation!

> If it is the former, I see that Alina still followed after Eteri despite the scolding! :(
(Poor Alina!)

Also - 29:53 - 30:23 Alina dancing!

Sorry guys, I am so far away of good translator

I agree with you!

No one gets to be in her position without some special skills, but still I’m always amazed by how observant she is and how well she can read her skaters. Her keen sense of observation is quite an asset to her coaching career.

I’m curious about what program she and Daniil will come up with for Alina for this new season.

You are a true live saver!!! All the goodies you find for us and your special care in going the extra mile and translating for us are very much appreciated.

I’m forever in your debt.

And that bit you translated about the Olympics Kiss & Cry was heaven to know and read.

Is it only one new program? Do they intend to keep the short?
I hope not, I like the short, but, in general, i am for new programs :).

I not sure if it’s one new program or two. I’d be with you, excited, if it’s two new ones.

I also really like that Black Swan and Alina progressed with it in wonderful ways throughout the season. It would be very exciting to get two new programs but I don’t know it that’s not a harder enterprise to endeavor during an important senior season for her.

But hey, they did that for Alina’s 2016-17 season (Samson & Delilah/Dom Quixote replacing Pink Panther/Unchained Melody from 15-16). Pink Panther then became her EX, in a slightly modified version.

For 17-18 they changed SP to Black Swan but kept Dom Quixote, and changed her EX program too.

Dom Quixote was a hard program for her (it is after all the hardest ladies program currently performed at the senior level), she took some time to get really comfortable with it (same with Black Swan). Ideally I would like her to start the new season pushing herself but also having some familiar ground to build on.

Maybe keeping Black Swan (the newer of the old programs) while changing up the choreography a bit on it (to adapt to the new rules) would allow her to have that.

Eteri has a very specific sense of humor)) :dumb:

23:10

She said -
You deprive them of virginity, they three do it for the first time
( because Zenja , Alina and her daughter Diana first time goes to ballet )

Wow, Eteri is something :palmf:
What did Daniil say?

Now thinking back to Alina's Ex it might that the most controversial movements (and the costume for sure) came from Eteri. Daniil seems quite shy :slink:

Eteri does have a specific sense of humor, kind of like Dr House from the TV series, I find lots of things she says to be very funny.

And she even acknowledges that like in this quote ""I train with irony, and even if I say something offensive, it's a joke. A vulnerable, intimidated, beloved home child with me will be hard, and those who come to the training for the first time and do not close up on the jokes - that's my guys."

They said hello to Mam,Pap, Grandmother ..
Then they got a scores (156.65) Daniil said - its less than in Team event ( TES scores)
Alina ask him - what is the world record now ?
Daniil - 160
in the end Daniil said - Not bad for a first Olympic games :)

Understatement of the year!

Lol me too :laugh: Also if I remember correctly, this kid was too ashamed to hug her, but she immediately opened her arms and hugged him. Lucky kid

Sure.... the old "I am not worthy" trick - he played her like a violin  Probably had velcro on his jacket too so she couldn't get free.

All kidding aside - what a sweet thing for Alina to do. She is such a nice person.
