Alina Zagitova

This is my 1000th post here at GS and it needs to be special.

Like you said Yatuvs Alina is so mature. She really is and I think thats what most of us like about her besides her being so sweet and an animal lover and so talented with a great work ethic! :agree:
Congratulations and I hope we'll see you for a long time here on this fan fest as you've always had an amazing contribution to it [emoji4][emoji4]

I like the Pink Panther picture! After five years on Instagram, I literally only changed my profile pic last week. Sometimes it's nice just to leave things :)
Wow 5 years. I have an insta since last year and I made it only to follow figure skaters lol. And my first follow was of course..Azagitova [emoji4][emoji4]

Alina's Grandma name - Nazira
What is the name Nazira means : "self-sacrifice" (the name is Tatar origin).
Wow thanks a lot Edroz. What a beautiful and appropriate name. I am sure she made and she's still making many sacrifices for her family, including Alina and she is proud of her granddaughters [emoji173]

Zefirka. No "s".
(but I guess alternatives can be used for sound "i" - Zefeerka or Zefyrka)

P.S.
this is "original" zefirka https://e3.edimdoma.ru/data/ingredients/0000/1920/1920-ed4_wide.jpg?1518016354

Thank you for the correction :thank:, would love to learn Russian and now I get to learn a little more of it.

And double thank you for that yummy picture of the original zefirka, I had something that looked just like it on a trip to South America, hard shell and softer interior, really good.

:thank: was really curious about her name and google translate was making such a muddle of it that I couldn't get a clue. EdRoz to the rescue. I'm super happy she got plenty of acknowledgement from that interview, Japanese press filmed her too, I think that is super nice and a way for her to get recognition for all that she does for Alina. They seem to get along really well, Nazira is a young Grandma.

Thank you.

Now that Alina is on the upswing I want to see her become even greater figure skater than she already is. I hope she stays healthy and happy because I got depressed when Adelina kept getting injured and I left GS for a long time and only returned this past season when Alina was challenging Zhenya to be the top cat. It was exciting and enthralling. But my main hope is for Alina to live a drama free life and to stay healthy. She is only 15. Her rise has been amazing to see

Any idea if there is some special occasion inspiring them to post these old photos?

As Madison mentioned there was something written in Diana’s post, but she later took it down. Couldn’t see it fast enough to try to get a translation on it. I’ll take Madison’s take on it because it makes sense [emoji23][emoji23][emoji23]

Alina wrote something on their picture that she posted to her stories: I’m missing you is the apparent translation.

Cute [emoji7]

I'm not sure either, cause it was really fast... but this was my impression.:slink:

In his latest interview Evgeni Plushenko expressed his appreciation for Alina's performances from this season. Thank you, sir! :thank:
"Another thing is that there are sportswomen who can correspond to adult skating at age 15 - by power, by charisma, by promise, by breadth of skiing, by choreography (Olympic champion in 2018 Alina) Zagitova performed last season at a good level. And at this age some manage to show themselves as big sportsmen "

They are friends , real friends ...Diana is ill, almost does not hear anything, it's difficult to communicate with her, so few friends. Alina is friends with her from the moment she arrives in Moscow, it does not look like a fake friendship as someone says, because she is the coach's daughter, we saw everything in Periscope

Plushenko speaks the truth!

I'll put this here again because it has never been emphasized enough....

Alina won the Olympics because she had the physical and mental toughness to land the 3lz-3lo in spite of missing the first attempt.

Such poise from a 15 year old.

That to me was the gold medal moment - and it would have been under any scoring system.

That's why I like the Olympics - for moments like these.

The Olympics is not the last stop on a "Coronation Tour" nor is it a "Lifetime Achievement Award"

Diana is ill? What does that mean?

It was upsetting to read that Ed. Eteri and her daughter are very hurt how Zhenya left. I guess Eteri is not as tough as some people say she is.
