Alina Zagitova

When it first joined the Olympics in 92 I couldn't believe it was such a huge thing (call it the curling of summer Olympics). Hey, Karate wasn't an Olympic sport, still isn't yet, think it will finally be in Tokyo 2020.

Alina likes to play badminton it seems, she mentioned it on her recent Instagram live with Sabina in Moscow before her vacation trip. If only they had thrown badminton at her instead of curling on that Japanese Game Show.

If she practices her badminton she may be the only athlete to make the ESPN list in TWO sports :hap10:

I don't have this problem on my computer (win7, firefox).

On my Mac using both Firefox and Chrome all I see is a blank page (before I logged into it on Chrome I could see the login page, when I entered my info and logged into it I got a blank page).

Same with me on Win 7 (firefox and chrome). I checked one of those "Outage Reporting" websites - for whatever they're worth.
The outage map showed the USA and some other areas. but not all parts of the world, so that is probably why it is affecting us and not Flanker.
I don't think those maps are anything official but it seems to make sense.

I'll have to copy and save the links that people have posted today and then try them later.

Thank you Lusk8 and Flanker for answering me.

and they felt a huge need to throw a shade related to Putin there :disapp: :palmf: it's like they can't write anything about any russian person without randomly mentioning him...

I find it very insulting to Alina as well.
Good job ESPN - have a writeup about a 16 year-old female athlete who makes your top 25 list - and then ruin it by mentioning that her namesake MAY have been Putin's mistress :hslap:

Thank you for getting to the bottom of this, I always look at outage websites and if there is a serious problem you can always find signs of complaints there (like TimeWarner is always going on blackouts and before I call them to complain about my internet being down I always check the web and sure enough find others in my city complaining). It is good to not suffer alone.

Another tip for you, try looking at the links on the web browser in your phone, sometimes 4G, LTE, etc are not affected by these problems.

website (on computer) appears to have problems, the app on my phone is working super fine as usual.

The writing is on the wall for me.

1st - I couldn't use the ratings slider on her picture
2nd - Now I can't see anything on Instagram

I may have to join the 21st century and get a smartphone

Dang those young'uns and all their fancy gadgets and gizmos.

Maybe I can send her my phone bills.

It's always nice for atheletes to get involved in charitable causes.

The lovely folks at TBS Channel Japan (seriously, can Japan get any better? wish Alina was taking part in any of the 300 Ice Skating Shows they still have planned over the summer), are going to air another version of "The Legends Medal Winners Gala".

This one will have backstage interviews, some extra footage and no cuts because they are airing it with venue sound (local sound).

http://www.tbs.co.jp/tbs-ch/item/s1774/

There will be another little interview with Alina https://www.instagram.com/p/BjEUvXtjrN-

Looking forward to this....will be on June 2nd, 6PM local Japan time on TBS2.

Edited to add tweet with a little video of the interviews (video has no sound I think) and you can see Alina https://twitter.com/tbschannel/status/998544126449668098

Guys, making a throwback Tuesday here (it's Thursday originally but when Alina is involved who is counting) because this is super fun, if you've never watched before please do:

1) Introduction of Figure Skating teams at the Grand Prix Gala EX 2016 (Alina was Junior Champ and Zhenya was Senior Champ), that's the event where Alina got her beloved Pooh:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MXUWPUAHopc
- At 3:10 Russian Team walks in, it is funny because only the guys actually danced to the ISU music for Russia.
- At 3:46 Javi enters as solo Spanish team member, all Russian girls (Alina included) actually dance to the music ISU chose to represent Spain (you can see them dancing at 4:01)
- At 4:10 Team Japan makes the coolest entrance ever...Satoko is so funny in this (so are Shoma and Hanyu btw).

2) Rehearsal for this same Grand Prix Final Gala EX 2016 video is long 17:27, but has some cool fun moments https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cHgOT2rOAbs :
- At 13:50 Hanyu zips by doing a cantilever and soon after that Alina, Zhenya and Anastasia Mishina start trying to do one too. Anastasia is the only one to get close.

Have fun!

I do hope that Alina and Zhenya’s friendship isn’t affected too much by her sudden coaching change. I wonder what next season will be like, if/when they’re at the same competitions [emoji848][emoji174] I’ll miss them training together

I also hope so, I love them, they fought honestly with each other until the end of the Olympics. But there is only one gold medal, and I think it was their only chance. I'm sorry that Eteri said that Zhenya was sorry that Alina was released early in the senior year. But Zhenya helped Alina, and did not do anything that could prevent Alina from performing at the Olympics. She hoped to win honestly.: Молись:
