Alina Zagitova

got to the post office in Moscow and for some reason was listed as a missed delivery (person not there).

Reminds me Czech Post, fundamentally delivering shipments when nobody's home (work, school etc.), so you only find a note "because you weren't reached at home, you can pick your shipment at your local post office from... to..." (so jump to the queue and take some book with you, because you will spend there a looong time).;)

Diana and Eteri look like they were sisters, not mother-daughter

Similar to Alina and her mother, on many pictures her mother looks more like older sister than mother.

FreeSkater, what a great archive! I suggest you to duplicate it on rutracker before it gets blocked on youtube, which regularly happens to channels like yours.

Postal service worldwide is a huge "twilight zone". The distribution center in Queens-NY I have affectionately nicknamed the island from "Lost", things get there on season 1 and on season 6 they are still there. Once I sent a package to a friend overseas and it stayed right there in Queens for over 15 days, not moving an inch, would have been better if I strapped it to the back of a turtle and sent it of from Far Rockaway. Also deserving of an honorary mention, their super fast fictitious deliveries where stuff changed from "in route" to "failed delivery no one at address" in two split seconds at 10PM, while you are home mind you. As you can see, there is no joy in postal land.

On a joyous note: Alina and her Mom really look like sisters

Yup, US Post put the fear of god in me about what exactly was in that envelope (it looked bulky, had some stickers), they kept talking about customs and this and that, took it over a week to actually leave the US, but once it hit Russia it moved fast....then....it cleared customs fast....got to the post office in Moscow and for some reason was listed as a missed delivery (person not there). Now on my tracking it is marked as sitting in the post office, addressee being notified to pick it up at the post office. Sad to put people through so much trouble, will see if it ever moves as delivered/picked up, if it doesn't will try to send it again but will completely take her name out of the address (maybe this was the reason it wasn't just dropped of, although I sent it to Sambo, did put her name below theirs).

Hey, person from Germany sent that whole statue and it got delivered to the Russian Olympic Committee, I'm going to move to Germany.

In this case, maybe better to send one envelope with Alina name inside of bigger envelope with Sambo address..
because I know how it's working- postman came to Sambo 70 and ask "Alina Zagitova is here?"
"No , she's is not ".. Ok, see you

P.S. Russian Post is a big black hole

Oh Lord!! With a little bit of Pan Am stewardess from the 70s thrown in for good measure. Whenever I think of Postal services I remember a line from Mad Magazine, they sold some pins and buttons and on the ad they had the following "our pins are so important that they will be hand delivered to you by an employee of the United States Government, dressed like a mailman".

father Frost (Ded Moroz) or what?

By the way, what do you think about the new BV for the jumps, if have seen it already? Basically - BV is lowered, but by widening GOE it can do more now (or less of course). So it will more depend on the judges now. Good or bad?
