Alina Zagitova

The Japanese media always coming through for us. They have the best fans and the best media coverage, I bow to them many times over, arigato, arigato, domo arigato.

On this latest video Alina running with Masaru was extra cute, they'll both be in great shape for the new season. And as lesnar001 mentioned, Alina is super strong, she picks up Masaru and carries her around like it's nothing. Best core strength building exercise that I can think of. Eteri is going to have all skaters skating around with Masaru in their arms.

And from 1:40 on that video they show scenes back at her apartment. Alina giving Masaru a bath, that's brave right there, love how Masaru stands still, and then sleeping with her. I see they took down the Pooh (smart people) and I could see no sign of Iriska, maybe temporary move to Ishevsk to allow Masaru to settle in.

Alina is already training Masaru, that's so cool. Maybe she will move somewhere else, they questioned her about it but Japanese translation came over the sound of her answer.

I am smiling like a fool watching the new video of Alina and Masaru. You can see Iriska in the minute 2:25-2:29.

Translation of the video thanks to @Iron_Klaus in twitter: #AlinaZagitova washed #Masaru's paws in the bath after taking a walk and they slept together. She is also thinking of moving to some place with more space because the apartment is rather small for Masaru. She said: "Even though training is hard, I can be happy when I see #Masaru. She is my friend and my little sister. I want to train her properly so that she can be some(one) who will protect me."

And there it is!!!! Thank you so much for the catch (it's in the bottom right of this screen picture) https://imgur.com/a/IEOcf3x

That meeting went smooth, super smooth. The Masaru and Iriska ship has sailed.

The english translation says the dog smells. :laugh2: But I am sure Alina did not say that because it would cause an international incident.

I would translate - "she has doggy scent" (in Russian animals usually are called with she or he not it)

j00mla is absolutely right. The verb 'пахнуть' she used is just neither negative nor positive. It's completly neutral. Personally I find it difficult to translate it into English because the word 'smell' is rather negative and words like 'fragrance' 'aroma' or 'scent' seem to have positive meaning... Maybe some English native speaker could help :scratch2:

Teamzagitova on Instagram was livestreaming Alina's arrival back to Izhevsk

https://www.instagram.com/teamzagitova/

You can probably see it archived in their stories (there were two videos), she came out with Sabina (not really on re-watch I saw it was just with her Mom), a huge crowd of kids waiting and chanting

Edited to add: link to video of her arrival https://www.instagram.com/p/BjSV1KvhrZO/?taken-by=teamzagitova (get a look all the surprised passengers trying to scoot by)

I bet her Dad and Sabina stayed back to pick up their bags.

Scent is kind of neutral to me, smell is too actually (unless you say it in something like "this smells" or "you smell"), stench would be the negative one.

Ok, thanks for help lusk8 . I think that for some 'non-native speakers' ( like me :) ) the word 'smell' may seem (needlessly) a bit negative, probably because of these two widely known expressions you quoted.

It's like Alina-fan Christmas in May right now! :hap93:

Thank you team zagitova! :party2:

Thank you Russian and Japanese speaking fans! :thank:

Thank you everyone who is bringing all these adorable pics and vids to this thread! :ghug:

My first reaction - I am deceased! I have literally died from all the cute! :dbana:

After reading a translation - yes, you need a bigger apartment and a bigger bed.

After rewatching trying to see Iriska - Get. The. Backpack. Off. The. Floor.

Alina said - Soon the problem with will be solved, I want to live in a house, not in an apartment .. Masaru will soon have large rooms
