And she is the ultimate senpai at that

So comparing some values for combos from Alina's program (FS, numbers que got at OG for her individual FS):
BV GOE Total Element New system BV GOE Total Element New Value
- 2A+2T 8.36 1.40 9.76 8.25 1.43 9.68 - less 0.08 points here under new system
- 3F+2T+2Lo 9.24 1.20 10.44 9.13 1.51 10.64 - more 0.20 points here under new system
- 3Lz+3Lo 12.21 1.70 13.91 11.88 2.39 14.27 - more 0.36 points here under new system
- 3Lz (solo jump) 6.60 0.50 7.10 6.49 0.70 7.19 - more 0.09 points here under new system
All these values have back loading bonus (both old values and new values). Calculations are not mine, they are http://the-real-xmonster.tumblr.com/post/174214240154/hey-alice-hope-your-day-is-going-well-if-its here. This is a simulation converting the scores to the new system, but not completely re-scoring the program.
As we can see under same circumstances (bonus included, not making her GOE better - as in, not improving it) she gained 0.65 points under the new system, lost 0.08, so net win is 0.57.
I assume her GOE are going to improve under the new system, she has more experience and she'll have more stamina to improve execution of jumps and elements, taking that into consideration I'd say she will have as much of an edge under the new system as she did under the old one.
Edited to add: sorry!! Oh lord!!! I spent over 30 min typing stuff and making it all spaced out but it shows all jumbled anyway when I publish. Going with new plan, alternating between bold and not bold and italic to see if you can see what the numbers refer to.
But she loses some points comparing to the other skaters, according to the new system. Still she has the most difficult combo, so a slightly advantage.
Where can I find the new base values for the jumps?
If Eteri truly wanted to risk it all, she could (theoretically) give Zagitova this program:
3s = 4.4
2a = 3.3
2a = 3.3
2lz = 2.1
———————
3lz+3lo = 12.21
3lz+3lo = 12.21
3f+3t+2lo = 12.51
Total: 50.06
I think this is the highest sequence of jumps for a FS with no 3a under the new backloading rule change.
What would also have to be considered is how the loss in "bonus" would affect her compared to other skaters.the whole post....
I think that her becoming older and hence naturally improving her artistic capabilities and skating skills should be able to make up for that somewhat. With Osmond skipping and Kostner not getting any younger, the amount of competition is restricted to Medvedeva anyway and she does suffer from the backloading changes as well.
and the Japanese.... I expect them to be strong next season.

Intuitively - I think maybe no more than a couple of points - so the focus to me is GOE!!!!
btw... the actual scores from OWG - the solo 3lz GOE - I know that was supposed to be the combo - but WAY TOO LOW![]()

I think so too, for comparison:
- 3Ltz+3Lo (BV 12.21 with bonus), GOE at Individual FS OG (1.70) Total Element Value Individual FS (13.91)
- 3Ltz+3Lo (BV 12.21 with bonus), GOE at Team FS OG (1.30) Total Element Value Individual FS (13.51)
Come on judges!!!! That FS at the team event was perfect!!!
That said she got better GOE on her 3 jumps at the individual FS than Zhenya did (and worst ones on her team FS than on her individual FS).

3s = 4.3
2a = 3.3
2a = 3.3
2lz = 2.1
———————
3lz+3lo = 11.88
3lz+3lo = 11.88
3f+3t+2lo = 12.32
According to the updated BVs, the total will be 49.08.
But the problem would be if she missed a combo like the long program at Olympics - she would no longer have a solo jump left to add the loop onto as the solo jumps were done in the first half of the program.Again, taking Dom Quixote from the OG:
- At the team event FS she performed 3 combo jumps in succession which were, in order of performance: 3Lz+3Lo, 2A+3T and 3F+2T+2Lo
- At the individual FS she performed just 2 combo jumps in succession: 2A+3T then 3F+2T+2Lo. After these two she did a lay back spin sequence and then added back 3Lz+3Lo right after it.
So yeah, she can do 3 combos one right after the other.
I was more concerned with 0.50 GOE solo 3lz vs 1.60 GOE for solo 3lz with a wrong edge.![]()
