There are some though competitors, but if Alinka will be in her best shape, I don't think it will be really hard for her to win. As the main competition...in Helsinki would probably be Kostner (due to her high PCS) and maybe Sakamoto..Imo Konstantinova did not deserve 2 GP spots to begin with and she is no threat for Alinka

Apparently, it was Alina's choice. And honestly I don't see Daniil choosing this sort of music. He is anything but common.
I mean... Carmen suits her, that's not a question. She has the charisma, the looks and all the abilities to make it work.
But I agree with all of the others that the music choices are quite mediocre. I expected something realllllllllyyyyyy fresh, unconventional and extraordinary for the upcoming season. But instead POTO and Carmen... hmmm

Why are they doing this?? Why give the reigning OC not one, but two, over-played warhorses? This. makes. no. sense.
madison, your "apparently" made me register on this forum, you couldn't forget that Alina herself said that all the music is chosen by trainers, right? Same was said by Alena Kostornaya. Even Zhenya said she didn't have much freedom with music or programs. So why to blame Alina for this debatable choice of music?

I get that people are upset about the program selections but I kind of understand their decisions. She’s got a lot of pressure on her so it’s better to go with “safe” choices rather than experimenting or trying to push boundaries. I’m probably in the minority but I think Carmen is actually really suited for Alina’s style even if it’s been done to death.

I would prefer without vocals.
It's just the short so she'll be fine anyway... And they used well known music in the past for her and it worked amazingly well.

So maybe they are listening the girls wishes now. but I remember an interview right after Milan that Alina said they already decided her music, so... I don’t know who choose Carmen, but everyone in the team should have considered that two overplayed themes in one season is not that cool.
