The music still fills a bit choppy. I personally don't like the middle section because I have never been a fan of lyrics/singing in skating. Also, I think her step sequence does not match the music; She needs something a bit faster.

I expected power ranger Shoma to show up, he is such a trooper.
And I’d like to point out that Alina did rippons and tanos (alternating) in all the jumps on that combo. Impressive!!!

I agree with you; She has beautiful lines, but I think she needs a different type of music.

After reading so many opinions about her POTO..I came to a conclusion: that her team obtained exactly what they wanted. Like every piece of art: for it to be memorable, it needs to be either loved, or hated. When everyone loves it, it's probably a problem with it. And it's exactly the case here: people are either lovers, or haters, but everyone speaks about her program, everyone knows it and probably will remember it. Controversy is not bad, on the contrary. And on top of that, it's a program that can win competitions. Performed correctly, it will bring Alinka many wins. Just seeing that 3F..for me it's an example of +5GOE jump

Yes she did - and it didn't even register with me when I watched it! I have never seen her extend her arm/arms on the loop before.

Don‘t know whether it has been posted yet (was a bit inactive the past days) but here‘s Mirai with our Olympic Champ!
Sad that Alina lost the jump battle, though. Shame about the unstable lutz landing. Had she pulled of something like at the Olympics training with the 5 3Lo, she probably would have won. But I liked her arm variations. And Shoma is looking hilarious.

As an Alina fan, I liked the new short program (what can I do? I love POTO!). It has some really outstanding moments, like the StSq, the layback spin, the 3F and the Ina Bauer. There are some points I disliked but I won’t worry about it now, it's just the first performance and her team will arrange the program during the season.

As for Alina, I remember that when she came with Black Swan, I read more than a few comments that it is theme for long program, not short. But in Alina's interpretation it soon came to life as a complex story. And I really believe that the same will happen with POTO. When I heard the music itself, it gave pretty much sense with all those cuts and with more work on it I believe it will soon become a complex story. It's not conventional, it's not as other 10 choreogrraphs would have done it. That fact doesn't mean it's good by itself, of course, but in this case I think it is step into the right direction as it allows Alina to show more of her abilities and personality.
It is also risky, there's very little space for mistake and many of the discontents are complaining about it. BUt that's one of the things that is not new, with both SP and FP from the last season it was completely the same. And I like when somebody doesn't rely on certainty. At the beginning of the last season, when Alina still had problems with Black Swan, Eteri even proposed to her to get back to Samson and Delilah. But ALina refused. As many of us noticed, she is very competitive and never goes through easy way. It this sense it is program exactly for her.

You love POTO? I envy you. It must make watching figure skating easier.
Actually I like most of figure skating warhorses like POTO, Turandot, Swan Lake and Piazzolla's tangos (Carmen is not on my list, sorry Alina
).

They did not show the whole competition, I read that Shoma also did a 3A. But it doesn't matter, it was just for fun anyway
they decided the winner based also on the audience's reaction and it was also a cosplaying competition not just jumping and Shoma's costume was really wow
