Alina Zagitova

I follow FS, that include every skater, I dont follow her life style, I dont follow her personally, I just follow her skate as any other skater

my thought are never clear so I apologize, how she skates was pretty, the program was not

and its my opinion, FS is about the perspective of it, who cares about cohesion, the judges would reward her efforts as they should, I just think the reign champion deserve a better program

This:

So a person who knows nothing about Daniil pretends to judge what is Alina's style and what isn't? Really? Seriously? Indeed? :laugh2::rofl:

And: Skater's teams and choreographers have nothing to do with their performaces, it's not related to their programs and it is only part of life style? :palmf:

Alina is well on her way to make the Masaru pose a cultural phenomenon in Japan :laugh2:
On her IG live she said now people don't ask her how she's doing but "how's masaru?"!

I think we can all have our opinion. And you don‘t have to know a lot about Daniil to state whether you like this particular program he made or not ? I‘m going to admit it, I wasn‘t so sure POTO would be Alina‘s style either. Carmen with its dramatic expressions seems to suit her a lot more than the lyrical style of POTO. However, I was open to see her explore, she‘s the Olympic Champion and she has time this season to grow as a person and an artist so it‘s perfectly acceptable that she wants to try new things. I like all that and I appreciate it. Doesn‘t mean I need to be a fan of her program already. I‘ll state it openly: I did expect something different. And let‘s be honest, we all have expectations, that‘s not a bad thing. I think some of the music cuts could be smoother and it will probably take me some time to warm up to this program. So, no, I‘m not a fan of her SP at the moment. But I also know Daniil and her will improve it and she‘ll become better at intepreting the character and style of the program. I‘m sure the program will grow on me, like DQ did which initially I also wasn‘t really fond of. It might take some time and it will probably never be my favourite program of hers but I‘ll learn to accept it. So, I‘d say we‘re all free to express our opinions, even if they sound like those of others. Many didn‘t like the music cuts. Many didn‘t like the dress or her choreograpy or whatever. And so what? It‘s not like it matters to her anyway. Or to us. She‘ll own this program and we’ll applaude her. Even if the program isn‘t our favourite. ;)

Perfectly stated, thank you!

After seeing the junior test skates, Alina's career will be over next year. She will be like number 4 or 5 in her own training group.

Make the most of your last season and grab the world title!

The juniors are strong, yes. But will they be strong in seniors, too? Don‘t get me wrong, I like them all and wish them only the best but it has yet to be seen whether they‘ll transition into seniors smoothly. We have often seen promising juniors falling short in senior due to problems of every kind. The only ones who have a more difficult content in their programs than Alina for now are Sasha Trusova (who is admittedly... unreal) and Anna Shcherbakova. If Trusova continues to land her quads like this, Alina will lose to her. Anna has yet to land a quad in competition and however much I like her, she is very fragile and doesn‘t jump too high. Alena Kostornaya is a joy to watch when she‘s on and is expected to jump a 3A but for now she hasn‘t so we have to see how she develops. About the others? None of them in their current state could potentially threaten Alina if she skates like she did at the OG. So, I‘d say, let‘s not write her off already. She has what these promising young talents don‘t have at the moment: Experience in seniors. Two seasons are a long time. A lot can happen. I don‘t say Alina is entirely safe or will never be threatened by the Quad monsters because that‘s not true and I think she knows it very well. But I agree, better grab that World Title now than have a more difficult time later. It‘s yet to be seen what Zhenya brings because she‘s her strongest rival but for now she has a pretty good shot at winning this year. But imo, that‘s too far away anyway. Let‘s focus on the test skates first, then at GP, hopefully GPF and so on. One step at a time. :)

I tend to agree with this as I can see all the media distraction will not help Alina to sharpen her skill. It takes month and month of dedicated training and practice to develop the consistency in her programme.

Well if you truly believe that, then all of her senior competitors are facing the same "early retirement" problem.

Good thing that Evgenia, Kaetlyn, and Carolina have already won a World Championship --- at least they can admire their gold medals in the retirement home.

August-September-October --- is that enough time to get ready for Helsinki?

Right now all the media attention is going to be the buzz around what Sasha Trusova is doing, and what the others may do in the JGP.

I just watch her SP and I dont like it, I feel is not her

I know I will get burried alive for what I am about to say, but I share your opinion. When I watched it for the first time, the beginning with the facial expressions totally gave me a mixture of Medvedeva and Lipnitskaya vibes, than her ballerina box spiral was matched with the music the same way as Tarakanova's last season (she was the only one with that feature at the time) and at that expressive ina bauer moment I was thinking of Hanyu  I am not trying to imply that her team copied some moves, because those are typical figure skating elements but those associations really came to my mind while watching and I think this contributed to my inability to get a real feeling about Alina's new short program :confused2:.

Why am I not surprised ?:rofl: I can predict what certain users wrote without even taking the time to read it.. it's really really funny.
how predictable people are.:rofl: how some users biased against some skaters or coaches.

figure

I am not sorry this time. I see the duality in things and figure skating choreography is not an exception. I cannot just praise something or only hate it. You make fun of me for not reading properly, but I guess you didn't pay enough attention to my words neither, since I haven't said anything about Alina as a skater. I was commenting just the choreography which is not her own work.

One cannot say Alina will be surpassed in seniors until the junior squad hits puberty. Seems like Alina won OGM at the perfect time right before she started to grow taller.

Everybody can't like everything. It's not even possible. That is not the way anything works. Sometimes bad programs happen to good skaters. Sometimes a piece of music, or choreography, doesn't speak to us. For a million different reasons - Not every piece of art can connect with every person's soul. Doesn't make it bad, or worthless, it just means it's not for us.

Let's respect and celebrate each other's different preferences. We all have different favorite books.

I don't like country music but there are some country songs that get me right in the heart that I can listen to over and over.

Not everyone will like POTO. Not everyone will like Daniil's choreo. Or Eteri's style. Or Alina's interpretation. It will be okay. Brittney Spears had an entire career without my participation or interest. I don't think she missed me at all.

Remember, Carmen is coming.

People are entitled to have opinion, we may disagree but let's respect. Feedbacks are welcome as long as it is not offensive and disrespectful towards Alina. :)

Nah, that's the weak and easy excuse people default to defend their favorites when they're facing a barrage of criticism.

Some things are objectively bad, like Zag's new SP.

this "Alina's career will be over next year" is not respectful tho! i have a hard time understanding why anybody would think this is okay to say! even about the skaters i enjoy watching the least, i wouldn't say something like this! yikes

Some hollow statements did not change the reality.
Some people don't have good taste.
Some people just hatеrs.
:sarcasm:
and a thousand other excuses.
You'll never be able to please these kind of people. Doesn't matter what you will do.
