Alina Zagitova

OMG, OMG, OMG this is soooooo cool, thanks for sharing this :thank::love:

I'm so happy they included her doing illusions spins, that's my favorite move!! And she is the absolute best at this.

The interview at the end is so cute.
My favourite moment is the super fast layback spin right before putting her leg above her head for Biellman position.
I also like how the 3F with rippon is gradually gaining a trademark status just like her 3Lz-3Lo. Actually both jumping passes are unique when performed by her.

I wonder how does one act a fall on the ice for the footage... I hope these were fake falls and not real ones with impact.

Can't wait to see the next surprise from Alina. Commercial for dog food featuring Masaru?

Couldn’t agree more about the 3F, that’s getting to be so beautiful and spotlight worthy. And that layback is looking more stunning every time she does it, amazing profile.

I think she play acted the falls pretty well, didn’t look like they were going for real falls on jumps so she could just gently slip down.

You have another vote for dog food commercial with Masaru!!! Maybe they can double down and bring Iriska in for the full immersive pet experience.

Do you know The Cutting Edge movies? This commercial reminds me of them, especially the parts when she keeps having difficulties, falling, the sound of the blades on the ice (they use this sound effect a lot in TCE)... It looks super cool. And I must say, Alina could be a really good actress, her face is very expressive and she doesn't need to say a word!

Btw, she looks already really tall, is it the dress?

That's good to know, my first reaction when seeing the costume was that it is like a big cake... :rolleye: But then I saw it is a cosplay of this anime character. And I almost got used to it but yeah, apparently Japanese love using many colours, even their TV screens are covered in colourful texts.

She has a very expressive face. Thought she did great with her expressions in the Russian bank commercial too.

I love Japanese TV - the screen is always so "busy" - like Times Square all lit up.

I love this part when she is skating on one foot changing direction.

And at about 1:33 when she is doing a front spiral through the field of view from left to right (I wish it showed her whole body).

I wish the choreography for her programs highlighted this aspect of her skating.

First post here after lurking for a few months. I started watching figure skating at the beginning of this year, a little bit before the Olympics, and I basically love all the Russian ladies now, including Alina of course  Anyway, I wasn't planning to ever make a post, but I just had to comment because I'm so ridiculously excited about Alina's new commercial.

Madoka Magica is one of my favourite anime series ever, and to see a crossover with Alina/figure skating is incredibly unexpected but amazing. The show is from 2011 but Alina's commercial is for the game spin-off which was released last year (I really want to play it but unfortunately it's only in Japanese and my Japanese skills are only so-so). Tbh, I don't know if it's cooler that Alina is representing one of the most well-received and iconic anime franchises ever, or that the production team behind Madoka were somehow able to get the reigning OGM to do a commercial for their mobile game (probably the latter ). I just loooove how the video was shot and edited, especially the full version - the anime itself has amazing cinematography and this commercial mimicks its style perfectly. The beautifully mysterious lighting and interesting shot composition makes Alina look like she's starring in an arthouse movie, it's so cool :luv17: And of course her skating looks incredibly polished as always. I got chills when the music changed into the swelling orchestral theme of Madoka’s transformation. Speaking of music, the Madoka OST has some incredible pieces of music, and I'd love to see Alina skate something from it one day. (Off topic, but I would thoroughly recommend the show for anyone into fantasy/sci-fi shows with interesting plot twists. But I definitely don’t recommend it for children, if I can say that without spoiling too much.)

If I am understanding things correctly, I have been reading that Yuki Kajiura, a well-known composer, musician, and record producer in Japan has been tweeting positive things about Alina's commercial. She has composed a lot for anime. Seems like she may be a figure skating fan as well.

Can anybody with knowledge of Japanese confirm this?

Oh wow, that‘s so cool!! So happy for Alina! I saw it on Instagram today and immediately thought: NEW ADVERTISEMENT FOR ALINKA! Go, get that money, girl! And second thought was: Why is she wearing a cake? I actually thought she was advertising for a cupcake company or something like that. Like... cupcakes with icing. Ice. Alina as the icing on the cake. Literally. Figuratively. Get it? (okay that was bad :slink: )

But then I realised that it‘s a Japanese anime (or the video game adaption to it) she‘s doing this advertisement for and then I accepted it. It’s even kinda cool! But I would like to see her advertise cakes one day. :( I would definitely eat them!

Since all results before 2018/2019 season are historical, it means that Alina's Black Swan will always be the biggest Ladies short program ever under the old IJS. Just like Yagudin iconic 6.0 short program.

next they'll hire her & masaru to advertise dog food! wait for it

Her name is Stanislava. :)

Oops, sometimes I make such a stupid mistake I can't say why it happens. This time maybe because I'm still half-sleeping :scratch2:
Thanks for notification, anyway :agree:
Added: Recently I mistook first names of our skater Eliška Březinová and pair skater Anna Dušková and it absolutely didn't bother me till one friend notified it. I just wanted to disappear from the surface of the Earth when I realized...
