Alina and Eteri will come to Novogorsk tomorrow
Why test skates are in two cities?

Now that the "test skates" are about to happen....
I want to wish the very best for Alina in this upcoming competitive season.
She is remarkable. A beautiful soft-spoken young lady who is also one of the fiercest competitors I have ever had the pleasure of watching on the ice.
Gentle in her dealings with her young fans and her beloved pets, respectful of her coaches and competitors. But her "game face" at competition time is
On the one hand she is like a playful colt tossing off a 3lz-3lo-3lo-3lo-3lo just for fun - and the very next night has the composure of mind and body to add the 3lo to her solo 3lz on the biggest stage of all. A lot of presence and maturity from a 15 year old.
I don't expect perfection (at least early in the season). I am glad that she is doing a couple of early season competitions to gain confidence in her programs. And to get valuable feedback with regards to the new scoring rules.
Her goal (IMO) should be on making the GPF and doing well there.
Her "peaking" should be at Russian Nationals and ultimately the World Championships.
I hope she wins everything - but I will be happy if she does well and medals at all the big competitions.
Remember that there are a lot of talented ladies out there!
I REALLY want her to win Worlds, though. After all, it is being held in Japan. What a nice story that would be.
There is unfortunately a lot of "noise" out there that some people keep trying to drag her into. Things that are none of her concern.
I just want her to be able to "float" above it all and just be focused on skating-skating-skating!
