Alina Zagitova

She is underage and it’s an international flight, it makes sense.

Yes she is, but almost all other skaters are underage in her team, so they have a lot of experiences about it.

Also If it is problem with permition to go alone bc she is underage, they wrote in the statement that it is not possible to repair it quickly, and she live in Moscow with her grandma so they can make her right permition ..you must check your ID's some time before the flight usually .. It's weird :/

The reason is fantastic and not like the truth) I do not believe :scratch2:
But if you know Russians, then do not be surprised that this could happen

This document is checked only by the Russian side, I do not believe that the border guards did not release the Olympic champion and the Rusfed would not have solved such a small problem

It's crazy but you know at the airports it is sometime crazy :D I have one day problem in France with my passport (and yes, i dont need passport, just identity card because of Schengen/EU, but they want it because the woman forgot Czech republic is in Europe), the passport was valid for next 6 years and I about 5 peoples was solving it. So, yea :D at the end if Im thinking about it I'm not surprice that things like that happen ..

Just heard about it. I‘d rather her having passport problems than injury. I just want her to be okay so while this reason seems pretty dumb it’s better than her having a serious problem.

I doubt nothing. It is an unusual problem to have, you would expect them all (Fed, Trainers) to be smarter about all this way in advance.

That said I remember Alina had a “permission to travel as a minor” problem when she was a Junior and had to travel on the other day to competition in France.

If she withdrew to get more time to prepare they would just say so or say nothing. Maria withdrew from two things already and no one said a thing about it.

Bureaucracy at airports can be really tricky or maybe they just lost her paperwork somewhere lol I lost my ID one day before the departure and traveled with a police notification

Whatever the reason behind this, I’m just happy that it isn’t an injury.

her parents don't live in Moscow. Grandmothers can't make that kind of permissions.
sometimes a single misspelled or mistyped word can cause a problem.

To be honest, I'm becomming paranoid. After so many travels abroad for competitions they suddenly don't know how to formulate parent's permission properly? :scratch2:

In Moscow, Gorshkov call to the head of the border guard and after 5 minutes Alina would be on the plane..she is not 12 and do not packed to suitcase , I can’t believe that story

yes. I remember about the same problem before.
As they said SP is already tomorrow. There're not enough time to make her a right permission and be in time in Bratislava.

3 days ago in the comments Daniil answered to someone that he himself and Eteri will go with Alina.

Gorshkov is not Putin. And this is not a Olympic games.
I remember as some gymnasts from Russian National team had more than once missed some competitions because of some papers problems in an airport.

permission are made by parents.
a single misspelled or mistyped word can cause a problem.

I understand the principle. By "they" I meant her parents. I just need some old hag to blame for it, coz she ruined my planned marriage with Eteri

The story looks both plausible (the papers are also checked by the airline as they will have to return a person back for free if the papers are not accepted by the border control in the country of destination. And different countries may have slightly different requirements to how the consent forms should be worded, signed, notarised, etc) and as an excuse not to go (for all the valid reasons - to remove some pressure as Zhenya is also competing this weekend and there bound to be comparisons, Alina's programme may not be in tickety boo shape, etc). Whatever the reason is I'm glad that it is not injury. And if it's a genuine paperwork error, I hope Alina treats this as just a bit of breathing space to polish her programmes.

Whatever the reason is, it’s sad because so many of us were expecting this! I mean, the costume, the improvements from the tests and the scores after the new rules. Anyway, if this really happened at the airport, must be so frustrating for Alina as other members of the team are going and she isn’t. But maybe it’s for the best... she won’t be able to present the SP to a international judge painel before the Grand Prix (and this is important...) but she will have more time to polish the programs (particularly Carmen) before Japan Open.
I hope she don’t get frustrated and becomes even more determined to show us how she is progressing.
(But yeah, I get what EdRoz is saying... it’s weird)

Yes, me too. I hope she doesn’t get frustrated. (because I would be)

I think about the people who bought tickets to see Alina, they are exactly disappointed
