Just to put into perspective how impressive Alina's early competitions have been.

Her Nebelhorn score would have landed her on the podium at SA today.
And both her LP scores would have been good enough for 2nd place.

I know some people complain about "warhorses"
But I wouldn't mind if some year every skater used Carmen for their programs.
It is such great music.

It sure is, Alina's program is stunning and has such vibrancy, drama, it really lifts the crowd and gets people clapping.

I mentioned before that this is my favorite opera but taking that aside for a moment, it really lends itself well to figure skating, specially in cuts like the ones used by Alina, Kolyada and Romain that have a great music cut and not some new wave, techno opera pop version of the songs.

I can see why it is used so often, it simply works.
 
I think she has one of the best music cuts for the free program, but the worst music cut for the SP. Hopefully she can pull it off though because the SP choreo is a bit too jam packed.

I totally agree with you! There are valid reasons why some songs/operas are warhorses, how lusk8 has stated, they have a huge impact on the audience and are perfectly suited for FS. And Alina really is a perfect Carmen, her looks and movements are exactly how they should be :thumbsup:

I just realised that this is my 1000th post, so I'd like to thank all of you for all the funny, happy, emotional moments that we spent here, together, and to thank Alina, for being the binder that holds us all together. She's the one who convinced me into seriously watching FS and it was one of the best decisions I've made in the last years. I hope we'll be all here at my 5000th, 10000 post and even further.
