It’s a pity , Helsinki is just 70 km from me, but I work every day till the Christmas
and cannot go to the Grand Prix :(

Don't worry EdRoz...I totally get it. Work is the main reason why I am not so active on the FS stuff during the working days, or why I miss some of the competitions that take place during my working hours (or during overtime...:( ). But we can comment together the competition here, I am sure it's not the same, but at least is something :ghug:

I feel your pain but adult life has its challenges for us all, right?

On the plus side this should be a great time zone competition for you.

Side irrelevant note: I really liked Helsinki, went there in the summer so lots of people on outside cafes. The air was super crisp and invigorating, I guess coming from the soot filled NYC air just made it even better by contrast. Super nice place. Hope Alina has a great time there.

Finland is great, 1000 Lakes Country

Watching a few of these programs made me realise one thing right of the bat: Her SPINS! That biellmann has improved so much, it‘s crazy. She‘s much more flexible now and also more centered. Also her double axel looks slightly better now (of course + that crazy entry)

I agree with you!! Alina’s improvement is remarkable, I think being in all those Ice Shows really helped her with the spins.

And thank you for your amazing channel Freeskate that helps us realize all that, I’m a fan!!

I colemnly swear I will serve as Alina's FF undercover spy! :D Thank you for your support and I wish you to attend a competition soon! I got lucky because we have a short vacation in this period (a Catholic holiday on the 1st of November in Germany) so I got the time, thankfully. And since I don't have much time to spend money, I have been saving for a while - for this journey in particular, because I decided I will try attending at least one European competition each season. Next season we got Europeans in Graz, Austria and in 2021 I think in Zagreb, Croatia. Worlds 2021 in Sweden. Hopefully Alina will participate at all these skating events!

I might make my Instagram public again for Helsinki to post stuff (I share my life openly only with Alina's fans :D). My seat is not optimal but I'll do my best.

Zenskate, my friend is super excited as well, watched Skate Canada with me. He is so ready to meet so many skaters, you have no idea... :D

Someone who speaks Russian please correct me if I'm wrong, but sounded like the guy doing the commentary with Yulia was writing Alina off at the start. :dev2:

I love the K&C at this GP...Daniil handing Korilakkuma to Alina and Eteri taking it away is hilarious, and just before the scores are announced, we get to see what hopeful Alina looks like.

Thank you, bewitched, for being our eyes and ears. I'd say please feel free to be our mouth as well, but the amount of loud cheering that would require would probably put too much strain on an average human's vocal cords. I'm sure you'll have a great time in Helsinki, and it is wonderful that you will have a friend to share the experience with you. Safe travels!

Hey! Hope you don't mind one more here. I have been lurking for some time and finally decided to get an account so I could join you guys here. :)

Alina is my favorite skater for sure! I loved her the 1st time I saw her, she is incredible! She is also the one who has really gotten me into figure skating. Growing up I watched the ladies figure skating during the Olympics only and when they changed how they scored... well, let's just say in the 2010 Olympics the only thing I watched was curling (if I watched in 2006 (I really can't remember) it was for Sasha Cohen). XD In the 2014 Olympics Yulia Lipnitskaya got me interested again in watching figure skating at the Olympics and then I saw Alina this year and WOW! For the 1st time I am watching other competitions and am following a skater like this. She's incredible! Because of her I have watched other skaters and have become a fan of several others too, but Alina will always have a special place in my heart that no other can replace. And besides being a great skater she is a great person. She's so sweet and kind! And I really identify with her shyness and love for animals. <3 She's so cute with Masaru! <3 And, oh, did I mention she's incredible? :D

P.S. Thank you, flanker for linking the hide youtube comments extension. It's awesome. :)

No, he just said "No point in saying in anything so not to jinx it, so just good luck to Alina". It didn't sound like writing off, just like "She could do it but I'm afraid to jinx it by talking about it".

I like this moment in K&C too :). Eteri always means business :). And Alina looked so... so much hope in her eyes, like "judges, please be kind" :)
