I think it's because she's a perfectionist and, how she stated in her interviews, it's very important for her to skate clean. But she wasn't so sad as she was after the SP, I think she seemed so serious because she was already thinking at all the things she wants to improve.
She was a little bit tense today, we are watching her since some time already and we know when she's nervous as soon as she steps on the ice. She was more relaxed at Nebelhorn and JO, but that's understandable because the stakes are here way higher. I consider it a great sign that even under this huge pressure, even being tense and everything, she delivered a great performance. :luv17:
I agree. She is just such a perfectionist, she wants to be perfectly clean all the time. And her season‘s best is 238, of course she‘s disappointed that she‘s “only“ got 215 now. She wants to be better and improve every time she takes the ice. And because of that, I firmly believe we‘ll see a 238 score at her next competition again!! This was her first GP, she was nervous but she still delivered. We shouldn’t forget that everything‘s way harder for her now. Last season she was the one chasing the girl on the top, now she‘s the one being chased. She‘s the Olympic Champ, she‘s got all the pressure on her shoulders now. And on top of that, she also has two completely new programs with crazily difficult content. Last year she had her DQ free skate she‘d already had for a season, it was familiar. It’s different this year. Considering all this, she‘s doing REALLY well. I know she probably won‘t see it this way and only think about the things she has to improve on but I hope she takes a moment to be proud of her GP debut and her gold medal. It wasn‘t perfect but it was more than solid given the circumstances. She fought like the champion she is. Next time - in 13 days already!! - it will probably be easier. She already has a gold and she‘s skating at home. And then we‘ll see the big, big scores again.
