Alina Zagitova

:luv17::luv17: Now these amazing photos made my day 1000 times better, thanks flanker :thank:

I am looking at them, and then looking again and again and can't believe it...our girl is so expressive, it's such a joy to watch her. A photographer could catch her in any moment of her performance and obtain a beautiful photo, so this is saying a lot about her beautiful lines and interpretation :luv17::love:

IFS Magazine will have a new piece on Alina by Tatjana Flade. Looking forward to it!

Thanks, lusk8:thank: I am eager to read this too, I like Tatjana, she seems like a great woman and is always beside Alina in press conferences and other competition-related events, she seems very friendly and supportive.

Rostelecom advert in Russia with Alina

I love the way Rostelecom Cup is promoted in Russia (I remember their website, full with Alina's beautiful photos and videos). They are so proud to have their own Olympic Champion, taking part in this event, and I am happy to see Alina so loved and appreciated in her homeland. :clapper:

Lastly, Eteri's mother has passed away. She was very good to all the girls at Khrustalni. :( Please, a moment of silence for this great woman who gave us a great coach who gave us Alina.

I am deeply saddened by the news of this loss. May she rest in peace! :sad21:

Careful, that is a slovakian movie (although created during federation yet so oficially it is Czechoslovakian movie and the king is played by czech actor), some Slovakian could take it personally :) But yes, I agree, that is a pretty fairytale too. Most fairytales created till 1990 are beautiful. Sad that nowadays filmmakers are not able to continue with quality. The best they are able to achieve is just "average" and even that is achieved rarely.

I'm sorry. :slink:

I'm sorry. :slink:

No harm inflicted. I mentioned it just as a joke. It is not your fault that Czechs and Slovaks didn't managed to continue in one state. At least we were able to separate our ways peacefully and now our relations are probably better than ever before, I think.

On my! I am so sorry to hear that. Sympathy and condolences to Eteri and Diana, as well to all the girls at Khrustalni. She sounds like she was a great woman.

There you go.

Although this version is in much lower quality than the preivous one, which unfortunately have no subtitles. The movie is from 1973 and still the most popular fairytale till now not only in Czech Republic, but in some other european countries too (Germany, Norway...).

During seventies we made many really beautiful fairytales BTW, like very true adaptation of Little Mermaid - very melancholic movie with sad ending or The Virgin and The Monster - gothic and dark adaptation of The Beauty and The Beast, yet very artistic and romantic too. And many others. So during christmas we watch fairytales, fairytales, fairytales :)

Thank you so much for this! And thank you for the others. The Virgin and the Monster sounds really fantastic! If you can't tell, I love fairytales.

I find I like a lot of foreign films more than I do American ones, especially ones made nowadays. It's a real shame they don't make films like they used to. I haven't seen any Czech movies and I'm really excited to watch these. :)

I completely understand you! lesnar001's link to Plushenko's interview has officially converted me into a Plushenko fan. I love it when people who matter in Russian figure skating say positive things about Alina.

I got the feeling Alexandra Stepanova was like Alina's big sister at the gala this time. It was really nice. She is a great ice dancer, too, and I remember her sitting and talking with Daniil and Eteri at the test skate. She will also be at Rostelecom, and hopefully GPF and Europeans and Worlds, so we might see more interactions with Alina.

So sorry about the passing of Eteris mother. My thoughts and prayers go out to Eteri, Diana and their family.

Many people commented Alina's strength is her jump, step sequence, transition. I basically agree, but in addition, I also think her upper body, particularly her arm and hand movement / posture set her apart from her competitors. She had a unique way to present her hand and arm in the most elegant way.

This clip demonstrates my point. Obvious contrast between the two skaters.

I want to give a big "shout-out" to Flanker whose post of a few days ago prompted me to go to the movies today.

I can tie this topic to Alina because at one point in the movie, "Carmen" was being played. :agree:

Loved this movie. And I just want to say that everyone should be lucky enough to have a "Mary" in their lives.

So if you see them, let me know how did you like them :)

I was watching the 4th Stage today, and I noticed that Alena K has changed her tissue box friend. Instead of her grey wolf, she has an orange-brown little creature that looks like Masaru!
Don't you think? ;)

I remember also Anna S has Rikkaluma as her tissue box cover, a match to Alina's Korilakkuma. :)

A gift from Alina?

Maybe Alena changed her tissue box in order for the new one to bring her luck. And it did:luv17:, I love this photo and her happy look when she sees her score
