Alina Zagitova

That is great news! Also, hilarious. I could imagine how much fun they had trying to convince Masaru to sign with her paw. :)) and Alina, owner of Masaru, is just a witness :)))

She obviously doesn't know what she was getting herself into....Repeating a movement a million times in front of the camera with the reward of a dog bone :scratch2:

Well - last year in France, her big sister repeated movements a million times in practices for the reward of a plastic star.

Off topic - I really thought France couldn't do worse than those plastic stars but somehow they managed! :scratch2: This year's randomly misshapen plastic things were a huge mistake sauteed in wrong sauce.

Get it together, France.

Clearly they ran out of money to even use a star mold this year. Honestly I think that a huge chunk of plastic is actually more expensive than a dinky medal, which any preschool aged competition can afford to hand out. idF organizers just want to be extra :palmf:

They spent all their money on the disco podiums and the Gif animation flags.

Wonder what they did for the banquet? Big Macs for everyone?

I can't remember how the calculations for WS works? If Alina wins the GPF, will she be #1 in WS? There are two skaters tied for #1 and she is #3, only 24 points behind them. Actually as long as she is on the podium, I think she'll be #1. I could be totally wrong but I think she will and considering where Rika is, she should stay at the top for the rest of the season.

hm... interesting question actually...

Table:
"ISU (Junior) Grand Prix and Final" has two columns: "best" and "2nd best". Alina won both GP, has 400 points for each. But, title of these columns is "...Grand Prix and Final". Does this mean that points for one GP will be replaced with points for the Final, if it is better or it will be added to "Selected International Competition" column?

I looked back at the scores again and if you look at Alina's from 17-18 under ISU (Junior) Grand Prix and Final she has an 800 and a 400. Both of them are 400 right now so I think if she is on the podium, one of those scores will be replaced. Maria who was 2nd at the GPF last year has a 720 in her best spot and Kaetlyn (3rd) has 648. Since neither of the ladies tied for #1 are competing at the final, as long as Alina is on the podium, she should surpass them assuming the total is done by simple math.

What's with the "Virutal Flags" - didn't some other competition use them this year also?

I love Alina's jacket! Also, anywhere Alina goes, she truly transforms people's day into total festive, celebration-days. Everyone knows her and it's honoured to meet her, and she treats them with so much humbleness and warmth, that she's becoming more and more loved and appreciated with every day that passes. That's the sign for a good, gentle person :luv17:
