Alina Zagitova

Alina is a few days from another important competition....

And like clockwork - another interview with Beastie :disapp:

https://www.sports.ru/figure-skating/1069293228.html

Shut up lady, just shut up.

Apparently Beastie decided that there was no better way to express her 'regret' about giving that ill-advised interview than by giving another, equally annoying interview, that I'm sure she is going to regret even more. Beastie, when you are in a hole, stop digging.

On a brighter note, it seems Maria Butyrskaya stuck up for Alina's victory in the Olympics.

One good thing that I can imagine coming out of this - by the time they (Russian figure skating elite) are all done running their mouths Alina isn't going to care in the slightest about any of their opinions.

Worsti thinks Zhenya would have won if she skated for Canada? We need to send her those analyses of how the Russian bloc at the Olympics judged Alina and Zhenya! I would hate to think that Worsti would blame her fellow Russians for "cheating" her favorite out of gold. :roll5:

Worsti also seems to think Alina did one more combo than her competitors in her skate :scratch2: I know she was an ice dancer during her time, but still, such profound ignorance of ISU rules. :drama:

Someone get this poor delusional woman some much needed help.

Back in 1988, the results in Ice Dance were usually pre-determined anyway.
This is why she is confused....

I remember a TV movie about the life of tennis player "Little Mo" Connolly.

In the movie, her coach told her that the other players were laughing and saying things about her behind her back.
It wasn't true, but it fired Mo up - and she soundly beat her opponents.

I know its not directly related, but I hope that these "distractions" serve a similar function for Alina.
I want her to be in "Total Domination" mode.

BTW - I don't remember who played Mo Connolly, but Michael Learned playe the coach!

I can no longer read these interviews :slink:

Somebody help me, I need this

I'd like to think at some point learning will occur and these people will figure out that they are not helping either girl (Alina or Zhenya) with this never ending back and forth. It just irritates the fans of one and stirs up the critics of the other.

It's probably closer to the truth to say every last one of these people already know and they just don't care because they get to feel relevant when some journalist asks them to comment.

I guess all we can do as fans is ignore it and hope both girls can do the same. In the meantime I will keep holding out hope that some of these skaters that I've admired so much in the past will get back to minding their own business sooner rather than later.

Shut up lady, just shut up.

What is wrong with her? I read her comments a couple days ago online and then wondering why nobody was posting about her stupid comments now I see they are commenting. I just don't see how this woman an Olympic champion herself in Russia could be so terrible to Alina. smh. And I revere Evgenia Medvedeva too but I am past being tired of hearing about all the Russian athletes were rooting for Zhenya. Good God enough of that. I have never seen an Olympic champion in a major sport have to go through the BS that Alina has from her own countries athletes since she became Olympic champion. smh. I am hoping this does not bother Alina like it does us.

My russian is basic (but google translate got me about the same) so I hope I misunderstood her:

Did she blame this 'unfair loss' in the Olympics on the federation because they did not work hard enough for Zhenya's PCS (they were were too low)?? Implying they both only got high PCS by lobbying?

Nice 'support'.

Nice worlds for the validitry of the sport too.

And nice timing ofc, I hope for the sake of Alina this doesn't blow up.

I have no comment
Is that the bottom? You can't go much lower than that. :scratch2:

I keep thinking - ok, this time they are done. They've had their say (again) and now they will finally be done talking about the same thing they have already talked about multiple times. But then some other media outlet asks a question and off they go! Like it just happened yesterday and they haven't already discussed it to death!

Maybe they all should form some kind of support group to get the help they need to Get. Over. It.

And, as always, the fabulous Team Zagitova posts this to brighten our lives -

Thanks to Teamzagitova the first things I saw in the morning were these two sunny creatures!
We should reply to negativity with love. I know, it's hard. But if it's hard for us, imagine how it's hard for Alina. How much pain it causes for her. She needs love and support, not another scandal.
