Alina Zagitova

I don‘t understand, did Bobrova say she thought Zhenya should have won? I mean, it‘s to be expected, the two are friends but why now? Why make a statemeant so many months afterwards? Honestly, I wish this would just stop. Alina won. And she won fair and square. Zhenya herself said that the judging was correct, that Alina worked so hard for this and that she deserves it. These people aren‘t doing a favour to either girl. Alina is constantly reminded that her compatriots didn’t want her victory and Zhenya can’t leave her loss behind either. Why can‘t they just let it go already? Alina is the Olympic Champion. It‘s not going to change anyway. And she‘s doing a great job, she’s the top ranked skater entering the GPF with great chances to win. So much for a one season wonder! :rolleye: So, why bring this topic up again and again? :disapp:

If I understand some of the comments correctly, Bobrova blames Alina's fans for Evgenia's instagram harrassment?

If that is indeed the case then we have another example of the Russian skating "elite" taking another passive-agressive shot at Alina.

Evgenia said a lot of the harrassment was people calling her a "traitor". How does Bobrova have any idea that these were Alina fans????

I wish someone with a lot of clout and respect in Russian figure skating would tell these people to CEASE AND DESIST.

Alexei Yagudin has done so on social media, but I think someone needs to actually show up on camera in front of the press and scold these people.

I agree with every word. Especially the passive aggressive part from you. It's true.

I know it's 9 or 10 months after the Olympics and these comments are still happening it's really weird. it's true that recently Medvedeva said that Alina deserved to be Olympic champion. I agree. I guess Bobrova missed those comments.

Bobrova said that everyone loves EM , and only journalists and Alina fans are offended her

She forgot to mention KK in the "offended by EM" column.

Gaslighting of Alina's fans again. The pattern is familiar.

What I want to know is why is Bobrova (and Bestie) "offended" by Alina?
And "offended" to the point where they have to cast aspersions on her.
I know that Bobrova didn't do that here directly....
but that's the beauty of "passive-agressive" BS.
Oh - Alina's fans are so nasty!!!!

Then again, this was the person who didn't even acknowledge that Alina might have had a little something to do with Russia's success at the Olympics.

Calling out a skater's fan-base is just going to provoke them. It's like telling someone: "Calm down!" You've now irritated them even more.

Also claiming that everyone who criticizes one skater is a fan of another skater is just challenging certain people to clarify - I am NOT a fan of ______ I just don't like _____!

Supporting your friend/favorite skater by baiting people to respond defensively is just creating more drama.

I feel like if I can figure this out, Russian 'experts' should be able to do the same.

Nah, KK loves EM and her coaching change.

Bobrova, on the other hand, has some nerve to talk this way about a skater who is half the reason she was able to walk away from Pyeongchang with a medal at all. (Sorry Team Russia, I still like you and you don't deserve to be caught in the crossfire like this, but Alina and Zhenya carried you into that silver and that is the truth :p.)

They have figured it out - and that's why they're doing it.
I think they're hoping for a vile response in IG (like to Trankov).
Then they can say "See - I told you so".

Then their "logic" begins....
One vile person represents all Alina's fans
Why does Alina have such nasty fans?
I know! I know! ---- Alina must be bad - she has nasty fans.

I hope these people overplay their hand and it backfires magnificently on them.

I feel I am missing something, but who is KK?:scratch2:

I think it already has backfired and is in the process of coming all the way back around. People don't like being told how to feel by 'experts'. A knife always cuts both ways. And unfortunately a direct result of all this is more negative attention being directed at someone who hasn't asked for it and doesn't deserve it. Which in turn triggers some fans being dramatically over-protective and feeding the fire.

Their words are creating more negativity against the very person they are trying to support.

These idiots are all so desperate to exploit and prolong their 15 seconds of fame. Everyone's got to put in a couple derogatory comments because they know it will be reported by the media to fan the flames. God forbid the humble, beautiful, 16 year old Olympic champion actually has her own fans that don't like to see her being trampled on by both the Russian figure skating establishment AND uber-fans of other skaters :rolleye:

These "adults" are pathetic.

That‘s what sometimes bothers me, too. In my weak moments. Had Team Russia (OAR to be formal) won in the Team Event there would have been an Olympic Gold Medal for both girls secured and a heartbreak in the singles event could have been avoided. Think about that: Alina would have been two times Olympic Champion at age 15. :p So, if you guys in Russia were all rooting for Zhenya to win a gold medal so much, then do your absolute best in the Team Competition so that she automatically has one, would you? Problem solved. I think we found the guilty ones. And it certainly isn‘t Alina. Because SHE has got her team 10 points with an even higher score for her FS than in the singles competition that won her the OGM! ;) (or better not search for the guilty ones, poor Misha doesn‘t deserve that everyone is turning on him again :slink: )

For the records: I‘m just joking here. It is what it is and I‘m not blaming anyone for what they did in the Team Competition (only secretly...). I just sometimes have my weak moments when I wished this whole drama could have been avoided. We would have had two happy Olympic Champions with one double gold medalist and no one questioning Alina’s success. Which could have happened and didn‘t and that‘s what sometimes makes me curse destiny.

But don‘t mind me I‘ll soon be back to cursing only those people like Beastie (who I had no idea actually had a name that sounds remotely like beast lol) and watching Masaru videos to cheer me up. :)
