Alina Zagitova

Not even The Girl in the Red Coat? ;)

These are words from Daniil in an interview. I forget the source, but there might be links in this fanfest or Yulia's.
Thank you so much for sharing this information, I really did not have any idea that Yulia rejected this program.

Alina's last season SP is one of my obsessions from the last weeks. I watched it over and over again, mesmerized by how much this program grew during the season. Also watched closely, it's clear that every move is well thought, to make us think at the image of a swan, especially Alina's arm movements. The step sequence is sublime, and her expressiveness is top notch. You can always take out her dress, mute the music, and it will still be obvious what she's skating, thing that can not be said about many of her contenders.

Oh, what can I say, I think the emotions before GPF are appearing in my soul, so I had to lure my mind into thinking at something else (without so much success [emoji4][emoji4][emoji4])

Yes!!!!! I’m going on the 8th so i’ll miss the short, but I’m looking forward to seeing Carmen live in her full glory. Thanks for the heads up about this! I’ll definitely swing by!
So happy for you and for everyone that's going to witness this amazing event!! Thanks a lot for supporting Alina, she deserves all the love from this world [emoji173][emoji173][emoji173][emoji173]

Here are Alina's own words about Black Swan if you haven't seen them :)

At first I play an innocent white swan, who is discovering the world. Then, during the step sequence, I have such a music that “breaks” me, and a kind of evil force is in me. At the end of the step sequence I transform into a black swan. At that moment I, having understood the world, realize that it’s impossible to survive in it without this cruelty. At the end of the program I am a black swan.

And was she not?

The Black Swan program was a coming of age story, a perfect parallel for Alina's own growth from an innocent white swan to a worldly black swan who understands that people can be cruel and friends can be insincere :dev2: and learns to deal with it. And if you want to be pedantic, Black Swan, not DQ, was what won Alina her gold medal in Pyeongchang, so the program was doubly perfect in hindsight.

But enough of the past! In less than four hours, Alina will skate in a new hemisphere for the first time. Go Alina! :hap10:

So Daniil is there (saw him at a livestream from instagram showing the junior practices) so......Alina is there too!!!

There somewhere.

I hope sleeping in the backroom to get that jet leg under some sort of grip.

Have a great first day of practices, Alina.

And Alina will be the last skater on the ice for the SP Competition (right before her will be Kaori).

I think it's a good thing, she already stated in the past that she loves to skate the last one. Also, the competition will end with the most amazing performance, Alina Daaé [emoji173]

:agree:
That head scratch was for me, I will have to wait 40 minutes from the start to see Alina Daaé

I'm glad there is only one flight in GPF...

Zamboni time then ladies practice is going to start.

I have to say that team Japan's strategy to arrive a few days before seems like a great idea (they've been practicing at other rinks around the city for at least two days now), team Russia arrived yesterday (at least the Juniors, all Senior Ladies and Ice Dance), seeing a bit of the Junior practices + Sofia and Liza looking like how I feel at the draw today I question RusFed's decision to bring everybody in a "close shave" kind of way. Nathan (sole Team USA member) also arrived last night and from a different time zone.

Anyway we work with what we have and Alina will not complain, she will work, work, work as will all the others. She is used to this by now.

Fingers crossed for her!!!

Hi Guys! This is my first post here. (I guess!) lol :agree::agree:

My name is Helena and I am a brazilian living in Lisbon.
I am fan of Alina as much as you guys, but I work soo much and sometimes
I read everything that you guys write but somehow I don't post anything!
Is really amazing to see that somewhere there is people who enjoy
a thing as much as you do.

Let me talk a little about my history with figure skating..

As a brazilian, I spent my life liking summer sports only, ice skating was something
so far way from me, that I have never had the interest about to watch, because imagine,
I grow up in a island with just sea and sea! The only sport there was surf,
beach volleyball...and football :noshake: But in 2016 Summer Olympic's games went to Brazil (Rio)
and I volunteered myself to work on it. So, I worked 15 days for olympic's games.
After it started the paraolympic games, the problem is that almost 95% of the
volunteers only want to work for the normal olympic's games but does not have interest about paraolympics. :( Because of that and feeling that it was the right thing to be done, I volunteered myself for the paraolympics too (most of the people got money to work on it, I was part of the only 5% that really was there for free). Because of that, the olympic's comitee is requesting me for a lot of their events,
I don't go often because as I said I work too much but when
I can I attend something, even why because now they're paying.. lolol
Anyway, I was invited by them to work for the winter olympic's games in South Korea. When I wrote the form about the sport I would like to work with,
I chose figure skating! (Because I did ballet all my life and it was the only winter sport that I really had something in commom).
My routine was receive the media of the countries, guide then, and than,
after competitions starts, guide the skaters after they get their scores.
Also, guide skaters to the proper media of their countries, sometimes take the skater to the bathroom, and staff like that. Also, we received a list with the skaters with underage (less than 18), to give special support (As they are minors age we had to double our attention on them). It was amazing because Alina was in my list (Medvdeva too), and I could get more contact with her. Even contact being resctricted due concentrations staff and rules. We only can help. (not be fans).
When I first saw Alina, in her group presentation, skating Don Quixote (I LOVE DQ), I felt in love about how perfect it was and about how she captured everyone's eyes and slience. It was different. I was so surprised, so happy, so amazed that I just discovered a new sport that I could love and it was so close to me, I mean I was soo inside that world living it daily even being so far way of all that. I was there with no clue about how wonderful and powerful that sport is and Alina just showed me it in a few minutes..
Another thing that captured my eyes was her emotional strength, she holds her emotional until the end but when she is off cameras and get to the private session she is just tears. But happy tears! She is very kind and work so hard. Actually all of them. But Alina has something special, she is humble, she is honest about who she is and about what she wants and she is soo young for it! Really, I was like watching all the skaters andit was like boring, but then came Alina and I said, OMG...What was that?? haha me and my friends was like what just happened here... lol and the judges and everyone else was like what? It was an amazing moment. Since that moment, I am wishing and I am part of Alina's team! To be honest I really like Medvedeva too. But Alina is the number 1. Now I am totally in love about the sport, I watch all the competitions, and everything else.

Sorry if I wrote too much.. But I needed introducing myself, and be honest..I don't understand well about the sport, I am a newbie. Bythe way Where Can I watch the FINAL GP live? is there any site? And how about the schedule? Where could I see it?
I thing for now is it..Sorry for the long post and for my english, I know it is not good... :palmf::palmf:
Peace for everyone and lets wish the best for our girl!:love:

Yes, I found it strange too. The aproach is like in a normal GP/JGP stage, but the level here is higher, especially for Alina since she is doing her big combos even in SP.

Welcome to Alina's fanfest!!!

And a super, extra, ultra, thank you for your firsthand account of your contact with her, what an amazing experience!!!

As far as livestreams they are hit and miss (more like, they are up, all is well, and then they get taken down) on YouTube they very rarely survive long enough for a few hours. But this person from Russia usually livestreams and gets creative to change frequency if it gets blocked mid flight https://ok.ru/figureskating check this link a few hours before the event and you'll see if they'll broadcast and the link for that.

This webiste also has few tips that might come in handy with a few links too https://soyouwanttowatchfs.com/ (be sure to check the post for the event you want to watch and scroll through to the end to see all available links).

Good luck!!!

They sure don't like to make the life of a fan easy.....my heart is going to get a run for its money this time around.

Hi Guys! This is my first post here. (I guess!) lol :agree::agree:

Welcome!! Post often and post long (you seem already have the "post long" part down). :2thumbs:  You sound like a very positive and caring person and I'm glad that you are on GS with us!

Thank you for sharing your story about the Olympics. It must have been an experience communicating with athletes from all over the world. :)

lusk8 has provided wonderful links for streaming the GP, so I will just add the link to see the time schedules.
