Well, I confess I'm often using dictionary. Not because I would not know the word (well, most of the time), but I sometimes have the problem to write it correctly (is there double "S" or simple etc.)

But I understand you well, if that means something for you ;)

Honestly, to put it bluntly: I believe nobody cares about whether there‘s a small spelling/grammatical mistake here or there. I think most of us don’t even notice them since we all make them from time to time. I‘d much rather read a short but well-thought out post, even if there are lots of mistakes, than a long one that doesn‘t even have a point. And I think everyone whose mother tongue isn‘t English uses a dictionary. And even those who’ve spoken it since birth still probably use one sometimes. I know that I certainly have to look up some words in German sometimes. We can’t know everything. If we did, things would be pretty boring.

Again no mistake? (Other than one UR. ONE!) Alina, are you human? This is great. I will have to look to find some videos, maybe on instagram. But seeing these notes, it looks like she‘s in great shape and ready to fight. As we all thought she‘d be. Why is the FS only tomorrow, I‘m so excited already!! :yahoo:

Is our girl real? [emoji44][emoji44] All her practices were flawless, and she jumped way more than any other contender. Alina is a model of determination and fierceness, and I am sure that all her trainings are impressive to watch live.

I am looking forward to the FS, Carmengitova will be on [emoji847][emoji847][emoji847] Knight flanker, thank you for standing up for our mighty queen [emoji4]

And about English language, I won't even start..I always use the dictionary too, but now, being logged in from my phone, I write everything how it sounds better and I just hope that you guys will be able to understand it[emoji16][emoji16] (reminds me of my German course, which I am taking together with a friend; we both make the same mistakes, but we always understand each other[emoji23])

What a sample! Were rehearsing a lot, huh?

I don’t know what you want. We are all excited for the FS, the SP is in the past and the result is what it is. What use is there in complaining if we can instead just focus on Alina? Like her landing all jumps in practice for that matter. ;)

I‘m trying to take an example of Alina: being gracious and classy in defeat. I think she would be horrified to see that some people are downplaying her competitors so much just to raise her up. She is an athlete after all. And btw, she has competed against Rika before in juniors and noted that she knew how strong she was. We are all fans of Alina in here. Do you see anyone of us complaining about her being in second place? No. Because we know that Alina, while being extremely competitive, has set a goal for herself this season that isn‘t directly or at least not entirely connected to placements: skate cleanly and show good performances. And as long as she does that, we are happy. She doesn‘t have to win everything, we still love her. And besides, there is still the bigger part of the competition yet to come, the FS. You‘re acting as if it was already over when she in fact still has great chances to win.

Lets not do this here. There's lots of other threads to discuss the scoring. I've read all kinds of different opinions online today re: Alina's/Rika's pcs were too high/too low. Whatever. It's beyond our control. The judges are going to do what they do.

Rika had the skate of her life and Alina skated clean but not 'out of this world'.

Either one of them can win it tomorrow. No matter what color Alina's medal is I hope it shines as brightly for her as it will for us. I hope she has a skate she is proud of no matter what the judges do.

Whether she medals or not I hope this competition inspires her for the rest of the season. The second half of this season will be harder than the first. I want her to skate her absolute best at worlds not the GPF. It's hard to peak twice in one season.

Lets just see how it all plays out.

Which timezone is it?

Because yesterday the time on the ISU list was scheduled for 9:40 pm vancouver's time.

I am now in Brazil for holidays and here is 19:45pm right now (in vancouver now is 2:45pm). Which means that vancouver is -5 of my current time. So I woke up yesterday at 2:20am my time (9:20 pm in vancouver) and Rika was already on the ice. But in the list it said 9:40 pm so I don't know which mistake I did...or if the list is wrong. (Once summer time ended recently in Canada) :palmf: I was lucky that I didn't lose Alina! So..now I am scary. Fun is that I travel a lot but somehow I always make trouble with ISU schedules.

I'm a little late but here it goes:

I think Alina did great in her SP, it wasn't her best but it wasn't very far from it. However, I think we need to aknowledge that if Rika skates absolutely perfect like she did yesterday, there's no way Alina can beat her simply because her technical elements are harder and she's already getting pcs almost as high as Alina. So in the future, going face to face against Rika, Alina can only beat her if one of these 2 things happen: 1) Rika doesn't skate perfectly clean and Alina does; 2) Alina changes her program to introduce harder components.

Since Rika hasn't been consistent with her 3 axel, I believe there's still a (small) chance that Alina might win tomorrow. Let's wait and see. I must say it's a pleasure to watch both of them skate, what an amazing moment it is for the ladies figure skating.

She is "2nd" because Rika got three times higher goe than she deserved according to rules and at least +6 pcs out of nowhere. There are no other reasons, mate
Really? Can this be confirmed? Interesting and disappointing if what you say about the rules are true.

Where does Alina skate in the long program?

She seemed a bit tired to me. Considering this, it‘s amazing how she can still pull of a clean performance. I do think she was scored fairly, though. Her jumps weren‘t as sharp, her combo looked better in practice and her interpretation wasn‘t as great as it was at the Rostelecom GP SP. But again: She still has every chance to win. She just needs a good FS. And I think we‘ve all seen that Alina thrives under serious competition, not crumbles. I believe we will see her strongest FS so far because she will be well rested and hungry. And a hungry, determined Alina is dangerous. Whether she actually wins in the end doesn‘t matter. But I‘ll believe she will. Why? I don‘t know. Just a feeling. Maybe I‘ll be proven wrong. If so, it‘s not that bad either. I just want to see a fierce Carmengitova. And at least this we can be sure of. This girl‘s a fighter and she‘ll give it her absolute maximum in the FS.

Alas, it was deleted by wise and peace loving GS mods. No idea how it ended, but in my mind Flanker won :dev2:

What could they have been arguing about Madison and flanker? But the main thing is Alina a great free skate and see if she can pull off the win a come-from-behind win.

And if Rika beats her then we tip our hat to her but I've read where people say Alina lost yesterday but she did not she's behind she has not lost. She may lose she probably will lose but she has not lost. Trailing by almost five points is a big hole but one she can overcome if she skates great and Rika does not.

Good luck Alina.
