Makes me mad too. And a little sad. Like, who hurt you? What is wrong with you? Why do you need this kind of attention?
For me the best antidote to the negativity is Alina herself (with some Masaru thrown in!). She is like the sun. One sentence from Kostomarov's interview that is staying with me is - "She will always be beautiful and she will always be a champion." (Would have made a MUCH better headline, but noooooo.....)
Coming here today and seeing the all photos and video of Alina and Maseru and being reminded of how much Japan absolutely adores her just warms my heart. And the stupid of opinions of people I don't care about and never will care about just fade to nothing. I don't know who Utkin is and I didn't care about Irina when she was actually relevant. Same for Besti.
Alina has fans that care enough to fly banners to Vancouver! She has sponsorships for her dog! She has Japan filming shows about her when they have a wealth of Japanese skating stars to focus on. She has great friends like Tiffany, Jonathan and Nathan. She has an idol like Yuzuru to look up to. She has a choreographer like Daniil that is truly 100% invested in her well being. (My personal belief). And a pretty amazing family.
