Alina Zagitova

Not only is Team Zagitova gone but also Champion Zagitova and AZagitova_Forever. :sad21: Three of her biggest fan accounts. That is so wrong.

I am so mad about this right now..I hope they will get their accounts back soon :sad21:

Has Zagitova claimed and authorised her own, personal, account (singular) as being genuine?

You never know if those fan accounts were taken down because of copyright violations or any commercial (sponsor) party's interest or even by some club official filing a complaint.

ISU or their affiliated broadcasters seem on a banning spree lately, most of the JGP and GP videos I linked to on my playlist were taken down, often together with the whole fan account.

There are many fan pages out there, not only Alina's. However, only hers are being taken down.

Alina's personal IG account is verified. Team Zagitova said the account was hacked via twitter :( Not sure about the other accounts. Hopefully it gets resolved soon for all three accounts.

Given the timing, I'm assuming the same hacker that went after Team Zagitova went after the other fan accounts. I don't know that for a fact, but it stands to reason.

Probably, it is very easy to create Twitter and Instagram accounts, so it is equally easy to get them taken down for whatever reason, malicious or not, pending investigation and possible resurrection. Best have two factor authorisation in place as an added security measure.

What I don't like is IG live streams being screen recorded and reposted on YouTube or other media.
Doing a live stream is a sort of semi-private event, chatting with friends, answering questions from fans, and the video gets deleted once the stream ends.
Even though the profile was probably public, when re-posted elsewhere this live stream is not in the private domain anymore and could be misinterpreted, misused, defiled or worse, to the harm of the subject, without him or her even knowing.

Which could lead to the subject becoming scared or banned from live streaming by their club's/federation's PR officer.

You know how they say 'never read the comments'? I break that rule from time to time on sports.ru because I want to read what other fans from other countries are saying. There was a blog on sports.ru about Team Zagitova 'idolizing' Alina. (Not sure if they were trying to be insulting or snide or not. Google translate doesn't do well with subtlety.)

There were over a hundred comments on that article. Almost every single comment was positive. (A miracle in itself!) They corrected 'idolize' to point out it was genuine love. So many comments explained how incredibly respectful, devoted, loyal and genuine the Team Zagitova fan account is. Several comments pointed out the integrity of the person running the fan account given the fact that they were not using it for profit in any way (by posting ads) and the money raised by fans for gifts for Alina was publicly accounted for, down to every last penny given!

Comment after comment said the same thing over and over. That the account was nothing but positivity toward Alina and no criticism of other skaters was allowed and no negativity was encouraged. I didn't get the impression these comments were posted by members of Team Zagitova, just people who enjoyed following the page. Like me, except fluent in Russian or native Russian speakers!

Most comment sections turn into a dumpster fire in a matter or minutes and this one was nothing but praise and positivity for the same wonderful qualities of Team Zagitova. It made me happy that Team Zagitova is such a good reflection of Alina herself.

I need to give this post more likes
You have written a wonderful explanation of why Team Zagitova is so loved.

All the credit has to go those people who commented on that sports.ru blog. Honestly, I was shocked. Even though Alina gets a lot of support over there (comparatively), the comment sections are not usually overflowing with sweetness and light. Almost every comment I read on that particular blog was so calm and reasonable.

I think it also says a lot that Alina's father follows Team Zagitova and occasionally likes their posts. That for me would the highest compliment you could receive. Especially since neither of Alina's parents post anything on social media. It's nice that he communicates his approval to TZ of their content regarding his daughter. :)

Alina's parents are both so sweet.
I remember an interview after the Olympics with Alina's father where he talked about what it was like when Alina won. The first thing he and Alina's mother did was thank the other for their wonderful daughter. :)

Sad to hear abou TeamZagitova, one of the only skating related accounts I follower on Instagram :(

I hope they will be back!
