Alina Zagitova

Oh yes I'm very curious about her new programs. I would love to see her to do something a little more, let's say, modern, dancy? She is fierce and exceptional dancer, powerful, I think something like Lara Croft style should be damn good way for her SP! What you guys would like to see her to do? :)

Anyway I'm not worried about her programs at all. POTO seems a little strange in the beginning for many people, It was hard also for her as she doesn't understand a story well, but in the end? It was fantastic, she was telling story, not skating to the music! (Which only I few skaters is able to do and at the age of 16, that's unbelievable for me) You only watch her and follow the story that intensively, that you forgot about the music cuts. So really can't wait!!

Yep. Something like Lara Croft. James Bond. Super hero. Femme fatale. Secret Agent girl. Batwoman. Girl power. For SP.

Lara Croft EX and Tigress EX really suited her. She was a bit too young for her tigress 2 years ago, but the next season she could look interesting in something themed like "girl power / young feminist / cat-like / go-for-it girl / rebellious youth / gritty up-and-coming generation". Something upbeat and energetic for SP. Perhaps even something Hollywood-themed. What is the cult movies about youth and coming of age? About revolting youth? 'American Beauty' has nice soundtracks, iirc. 'Breakfast club' perhaps?

Alina's rapid growth spurt this season really played a bad trick on her coaches. She is noticeably grown and slowly maturing now. You can already see it in her eyes. She is getting more self-confident and has that woman's inner strength inside her sparkling eyes. I understand at the beginning of the season they clearly wanted to emphasize her softness and innocent side in her POTO, you know a natural "lovey-dovey" romantic innocence. Disney romantic theme. This was a good fit for a teenager of her age and specifically for her naive personality, but a year ago. She started to change so fast this season - natural coming of age processes. Even her character/personality is slightly different now. They really misfired with POTO this year. She is not a little girl any more. Still a bit naive and immature, yes, but not the same kiddo who just won Olympics to everyone's surprise. She clearly did not really want to portrait some little girl now and that weird phantom/beast of hers. :) Too much cartoonish vibes in that POTO.

There were 2 different persons this season. Little sweet Alina of last summer when they first introduced this POTO program on her. And the second person - Carmengitova with her long beautiful legs drawing this ornament of big nice circles and arches on ice just 1 week ago on WC. Her young wanna-be "femme fatale" Carmen makeup for LP was def spot on. Thanks to Shiseido. Really great match together. Shiseido and Carmengitova found each other for sure. I mean, c'mon, just look at all those modeling photos of the last week. She is becoming a global young model. A great face for their brand. Congrats, I guess. Red color really likes Alina.

As for POTO, well, no biggie. We can all admit, she did not looked too comfortable in her POTO. Not natural. Can't blame her. Even the dress looked so small already, she clearly outgrew her POTO dress by the end of this season. Funny. No one is to blame here, really. Eteri and Daniil probably secretly giggled and admired her changes too. After all kids grow. And, btw, great job mr. Dudakov - we saw Alina's struggling with her jumping techniques the whole season, but he found a method to stabilize it. Gotta add that Alina's SS got even better, nice deep adges. Spins are even more centered and gorgeous now. Seems like Daniil's mom (ex-ballerina, right?) really worked on her core, flexibility and balance. A lot of spectacular difficult transitions and no empty unnecessary 2-foot skating in the programs. I guess thanks to Daniil G for that. And Eteri definitely knows and understands woman's psychology. She has a young coming of age daughter herself. I'm glad she found the way to calm her nerves and set Alina's mind straight. Especially after all this mess in social media and pressure by mass-media and by other camps (TAT, Besti & Co).

Alina mentioned in couple of her interviews she is having weird mood swings sometimes, she said she talks back sometimes now (per her words: they say 'yes' - I say 'no' and vice versa), she admitted she is in this strange rebellious phase now. She said she hopes this will pass soon enough. I noticed who she hugged her coaches and thanked them on national tv for "putting up with her / tolerating her". Eteri rolled her eyes smiling. They all giggled together - that seemed to be some kind of inside joke for them. That was fun and interesting. So why wont make some saga about this for her next season's LP? Something about 'troubled youth' perhaps? Theme about making mistakes in young ages, correcting them later, not giving up on and learning these lessons of life - experiencing cruel adult world. Something about coming of age? "Imma surviava, Imma not gonna giv up" was perfect for her EX this season. You can tell she really feeling it, she liked and felt the music and the mood of her Lara Croft EX. This EX won her many-many new young fans. That's for sure.

Theme about coming of age would be great for her LP. Many older fans could relate to this - everyone had to see their own kids (or kids of their relative/friends) going through teen ages and all the troubles with this phase. Younger fans could relate to their own recent experience. And teenagers will just love her portraying something they are experiencing now (or will soon) - something they can directly feel or wait with anticipation. It does not need to be about something too cheerful, or something sad, or about some "bad mistakes" or smth. It can be something like Zhenya's "I hear you / I don't / but I feel you / and I am not afraid" program 3 years ago. Daniil could make her next LP about experiencing the whole different world - adult world, you know - new life, new challenges, new unusual thoughts, desires and wishes. New dreams. New moral compass, new friends, new idols and new costly mistakes which comes with these. A new LP about Alina's new life, where plushy toys are not a high priority any more and barbies are not too interesting, so they all are getting packed into boxes and gifted to younger sister (Alina has younger sister).

Alina is a new young star. International teenage star. There are a lot of changes in her life, her mind and character. She is really coming of age and becoming a woman. Young global woman. She will be slowly drifting from her parents wings into her own independence. With adult responsibilities and adult life-style.

Dear Danii G, make something contemporary and relevant to current state of Alina's life for LP. This can even be some philosophical piece with some thoughtful message and sort of advice to the current young generation. "Be smart kids, dont rush to make many mistakes of your own, study hard, be good, dont let your hormones lead you into troubles". Music does not necessary have to be very "modern", youthful or energetic.. No techno, no hard beat. No warhorsey classics, please. Something entertaining about youth and coming of age. But with a calm beat, but energetic, not too fast, not too slow, with a 2 slight tempo changes and a musical bridge in the middle. Slight tone modulation towards the end. Bittersweet sadness and nostalgic about leaving a careless childhood and getting into an adult world.

IMHO "Coming of age" theme would really suit Alina next season. Danni, make it happen! Or I will start throwing things. (at Daniil)

I love this post. She really has grown up. The pain of this season has changed her but you can still see the little girl when someone hands her a stuffed akita for the hundredth time and she smiles so graciously.

Danny G. has taken us to the ballet and to the opera, where to next? The symphony?

All I know is he really needs to create two masterpieces. She is going to need every bit of ammunition next season!

We will definitely be seeing a more mature version of Alina. Her maturity, grace and beauty will set her apart from her younger competitors.

If Daniil drops the ball I will join you in throwing things at him! :hpull:

Alina is such an impressive skater, I hope the programs aren't as busy next season. She can show-off her deep edges and truly have time to sell the programs herself with more of her own touch. To me rebelliousness is a signal of increasing confidence so I'm excited about that and how it will transition to her performances and input into the choreography.

Now where are those who claimed her wounds were "fake"...

Again, I wonder how this young, shy and fragile girl can be so brave, she was skating with this during rusnats and I bet that during euros it wasn't still healed properly. And again, she has never made any excuses, she has never spoken of it.

I have no words :(
why they didn't stop her? oh, baby... :sad46:

Probably because it was a very important competition that determined a lot for the rest of the season. I think if it wasn't nationals she wouldn't have pushed herself that much (right?!)

I knew burn must be terrible because otherwise no one from team T would ve said anything... and I could see her basically crying after her SP and she couldn’t walk properly...when Daniil told us about that i was VERY worried, but she skated her EX amazingly. I’m 100% sure federation didn’t let Alina to WD coz Liza already did first and Alina had to fight for her right to present Russia at Worlds, media hysteria wasn’t helping. at Europeans i think burn was fine (enough time to heal) but she still had knee and other leg problems, amount of pressure in Russian media was unbearable and she lost her confidence after rusnats. I know every pro-sportsman gets injured but no one ever gets as much sh** as Alina. This girl is so fragile and strong at the same time, she is the true champion and olympic champion we deserve.

She skated GPF with injury she just got and not really feeling her leg coz of freezing stuff, im sure it was no fun either, plus her knees ...and those things on anckle/foot where she used medicine on and got chemical burn are ...painful
