You're probably right, but it's just soooo annoying when I hear people say such unfair and nonsense rant about Alina that I can't help being protective and immediately starting to defend her like the Lion King...

Sometimes I do that myself when the negativity level reaches the safety valve, esp. when I hear or read comments like "I like XY but..."/"XY is so sweet, but..."
(that "but" usually means "XY is trained by Eteri"

Liking and admiring a skater doesn't always mean liking the coach, just because. You can very well be the fan of one and have criticism/doubts about the other. That's exactly one of the reasons why I seldomly post in here. Because I'm one of those.. "I like/admire Alina but I have problems with her coach." people you compare to TSL right now.
Which is really not fair because what TSL guys do, is on a whole other level. What they do is not "criticising" or "voicing doubts". They attack her personally and reduce her to nothing more than a pretty face with a cute dog and nice spins, ignoring and neglecting everything she has personally done and achieved, this season and last and hopefully in the future, too. And that's exactly the problem I have with them - it's okay to voice criticism as long as it's done in a respectful manner. But not like this. And certainly not talking badly about a 16-year old girl just because one dislikes her coach. Just my two cents on this topic.
Hoping Alina has a great time in Toronto. From her pictures on instagram, it certainly seems like it. Good for her, she deserves it after the long, stressful season she's had. And hopefully we'll see a Shiseido-on-ice commercial soon.

You are right; don‘t know why I watch them and get angry and upset. They are so biased and can even lie to prove a point. Alina is especially annoying to them, because she didn‘t retire and she didn‘t crumble to prove their „one-time wonder“ or „poor technique“ concept. So now she is accused of having no personality. But you are right, they are actually quite pathetic and I should probably just stop watching them.

But with all the shade they throw in our favorites like Alina and a large platform they have there is no way to avoid them and taking them seriously even with all they spew.
I don't know the background of those two guys but they don't look like they're the upper echelon of Canadian figure skating history. I doubt they were anything special in their skating careers. In a way they are like internet trolls using a huge YouTube platform to do what they want and say what they want. Sad.

Exactly. They clearly have their own agenda, so no need to be upset. They are not able to show respect or dignity, and they should be ashamed of themselves. Of course they won't be, so I hope they will have plenty reasons to complain after other big wins from Alina and Team Eteri. They can remain with their ridiculous complaints.

Their dismissiveness of Alina's truly remarkable accomplishments in skating exposes them for exactly who they are.
Nothing but a self-driven, self-serving "gossip mongering" site that fancies itself the TMZ of ice skating.
I don't care how many "inside sources" they have, or how clever they are in finding out "inside stories" or whatever.
At least she probably has never even seen one of their videos.
Unlike the number of USA skaters that have been "dissed" by them over the years.
BTW, I think Alina may already be back in Russia.
Because her latest PUMA picture on IG is labeled "Moscow".

Funny thing is Alina Zagitova was named after Alina Kabaeva and both besides being unbelievably beautiful and nice are absolutely GOATS in their respective sports. What are the odds of that, like 100 million to 1?
If Alina was in Canada why didn't she stop by America? Has she ever even been in America? I don't think she's ever performed here.

If Alina ever visits the US for a competition or gig, these guys will be first in line to try and meet her personally, they just cannot resist the temptation to suck up to her and brag later about them meeting Alina. They are no better than the attention wh*res on YT like this Yelena Rodina and the other rotten channels from Russia.
I don't know if their blog has any credit with any USA figure skating competition/meet/festival organiser, but I wouldn't be surprised if they use exactly the same YT channel as credentials to suck up to Alina they use to attack her, all claiming it is just for satire and fun.

More than anything, I think their comments are far beyond what is appropriate for a 16 year old girl, let alone the GOAT and youngest grand slam winner in figure skating history, only the second ever.
They've said she's named after Putin's mistress, said she should retire and be a model, said "she's pretty and has a Lutz Loop but that's it". I believed they've also said she/her program was too sexy like. Hell, such comments are so incredibly sexist and chauvinistic and inappropriate. She's a skater, comment on her bloody skating you morons. Why are they even so fixated about how she LOOKS.

I agree 100% mono and like you pointed out they don't comment enough on her figure skating it's these other stupid comments about her looks or her dog etc etc etc. Saying these two can be catty is an insult to cats.

I think they forget they are talking about teenagers sometimes.
Given what Dave and Jon seem to think qualifies as 'having a personality' (based on theirs) I'm not surprised they are incapable of appreciating Alina's. Not everyone's personality is "look at meeeeeeeee!!!!!!" "in your face!" or my favorite - "just keeping it real!" (no you're being a hurtful jerk and calling it honesty.)
Alina's personality is much more subtle. Not everyone gets that. If you want everyone to be Katarina Witt, then you aren't going to appreciate the people who have something else to offer.
Also she is not even 17. Even Katarina Witt became Katarina Witt! Alina has had two senior seasons during which time she was skating to routines that had specific characters and distinct stories. I think we got to see shades of her personality in those programs. We got to see another side of her personality in Survivor. There is never just one of anybody.
I hope Alina gets more competitive seasons so that we all get the chance to watch her skating grow and her personality develop.
These are two grown men publicly saying a 16 year old is just a pretty face, with good combination jump and a dog. They seriously need to take a look at themselves.
Their comment about Evgenia is just mind boggling. I know this isn't her fanfest, but to say 'she can't skate' is beyond ridiculous. So she won 2 World Championships, 2 Olympic medals, and everything else she won all without being able to skate? That is fascinating. Really. Where do you even start with someone like that?
I used to believe that they were trying to increase interest in the sport of figure skating. I appreciated that because figure skating needs help growing it's popularity in the US. Now I think they just want to be Perez Hilton. Good luck with that.

You are right. In fact there is a youtube user who posts really nasty things in the comments about certain skaters in their videos.. TSL said he is their favorite because it gets them more views and clicks.
