Alina Zagitova

Wow, defensive crowd. I'm just responding to one section of the interview, or someone's interpretation of the interview.

Besides, my criticism is about the choreographer.
Lol yeah, but i believe next year she will get “less” in her programs, this year they made it extra difficult physically for her on purpose, to overcome puberty (trick Alina to train jumps more, do more to feel confident in competition) and to show off her champion level to the judges. Difficulty and “overdoing” in her free program screams “I'm more classy than any of those skaters”

Wonderful pictures, great to see Alina relaxing. And she does look beautiful.
But I am sorry she wasn’t there for Masaru’s win, the emotion is amazing. I recently took my 4 year old golden to his first show only to meet his relatives and because it was at a nice mountain. I had no ambitions, the dog had no “show training”. And yet, by the end of the show I got so competitive. When he won everything, I was jumping, screaming and hugging strangers, surprisinly for myself :-) Alina should definitely go next time, she will love it.

According to Russian twitter Alina is on holiday in Egypt. Here's hoping she posts more pictures of her well deserved vacation :)

It's Team Tutberidze Tuesday! Here are a few quotes from an article about one of their choreographers. Forgive the inevitable Google translate errors. Alina is briefly mentioned. (Yes, it has come to that. We are that desperate for news about Alina :( So it goes in the off-season.) -

Choreographer Alexei Zheleznyakov told about how Eteri Tutberidze began working in the group.

Zheleznyakov, a former ballet dancer, has performed in several theaters in Moscow.

“In 2010 I went on tour to Kamchatka, performed there with my team. The sound engineer of the play was Pavel Vorotnikov, his son Andrei trained by Eteri Tutberidze."

"When we returned to Moscow, we sat with Pavel next to me on the plane, talking. He asked if I wanted to try to teach modern skaters? Eteri Georgievna was looking for a teacher-choreographer. I decided to try it, met the “Sambo-70” team, gave my first lessons. In the end, I liked it and I entered the coaching staff. So a casual acquaintance on the other side of the country helped me find an interesting job in my hometown."

"My classes with athletes are mainly in the hall. I develop their coordination of movements, plasticity and strength of the body, so that a person can feel the music with every cell. When a skater owns different styles of dance, it gives a wide choice of themes for performances. And Daniil Gleykhengauz is the choreographer, he creates numbers on the ice. But the last word in choreography is always for Eteri Georgievna."

.... "Of my students today, each is unique in its own way. From Sasha Trusovoy goes mad energy, Alina Zagitova flexible as a kitty, Alena Kostornaya - lady of blue blood. Everyone is different: someone in the inner world is suitable for lyrics, for someone is passion, for someone is something light, fiery."

"Eteri Georgievna's literacy is that she sees which role suits a person, and never goes against the nature of a skater. Hence the balance between sports and aesthetics,” said Zheleznyakov.

I wonder why Zheleznyakov keeps talking about Alina being like a cat... Does he mean that she's light and flexible? small but fierce?

I want to know her new music soo bad and I‘m a little concerned why there is no info yet, but also optimistic that they want to find something really special for her

I got a little bit concerned, but then I remembered that it's only May, and all of these other program announcements are just coming really early. Plus, she's been super busy, she was in Toronto for sponsorships and now is on vacation, as are Daniil and Eteri (or at least they were until very recently). But soon she'll be back in the rink preparing for all of her summer shows in Japan, I'm sure they'll choreograph programs in between all of those.

I'm going with all of the above. There is something catlike about her. Puma couldn't have chosen a better representative for their brand. Puma is just so her! Iriska agrees.

Yes Alina is very feline and Puma is the purrrrrrfect sponsor for her. :) I'm glad she did something different than having a bigger sportswear company as a sponsor.

Also I saw that Alina was on vacation last week. Is her school semester in progress or is she on spring break Moscow? ;)
