Alina Zagitova

The distance and height on Lz-Lo  both jumps are so much bigger!
and that first 2A was just amazing, so big! :eeking:
What a queen, just when you think she has it all and doesn't need to work that hard anymore, she just keeps on improving in every aspect of her skating.

And the ease with which she does her jumps :)

Knowing that this is definitely not the most difficult tech layout for her, we might expect some alterations during the season, maybe?

Alina going clean 2/2 performances this season so far. If she keeps this going, she's going to be the lady with the fastest puberty recovery. Normally it takes the best skaters a few season to recover from a growth spurt, but it seems like she's in even better shape than she was when she was 15 (which is rare in ladies). Good thing her team helped her with that, and didn't "throw her away" like so many thought (wished :whack:). I think by the end of this season we'll get an idea of whether she'll fight for the Olympics.

I love her in black for Cleopatra, but do wish that they'll change the SP dress. It's rare for skaters to wear the same colours for both programs, no?

Of course Alina will fight for her spot on the Olympic team. And of course the ISU should have a rule that the defending champion should get a bye into the Olympics if they remain at a high level of skating through qualifications. The Olympics is in about two and a half years and we don't know who else is going to come on the scene in Russia but I see only Sasha as being ahead of Alina at that point. Maybe Anna. Probably not Alena unless she lands triple axels. I see no reason why Alina won't be on that Olympic team at this point. Alina is GOAT material for sure but this is her chance to build her career into an all-time great career and make a very nice amount of money in endorsements and appearances to provide a better future for her family. Money talks even in figure skating. To me the only thing the could stop her is injuries. But at this point two and a half years from the Olympics she seems in good health and great spirits.

What a happy Saturday! I didn’t think it was possible, but Alina has become even more gorgeous and confident. She was outstandingly beautiful and skated like a true champ. I was sceptical about the costume and the music (I feel allergic to Middle Eastern sounds), but Alina turns everything into a piece of art.

What a fabulous thing to wake up to! Alina's 1st victory of the season with Team Europe! A clean skate!

I love the program and I can't wait to see how it evolves and grows throughout the season. Fingers and toes crossed that we get to see it at Worlds

They got the costume just right without overdoing it. There have been so many truly tragic Egyptian themed costumes that I was a little worried. Needlessly as it turns out. Olga killed it again. As an added bonus they didn't over do the makeup. :)

Any day that I get to see Javi again is a good day!

Thank you Alina and a big thank you to her second home, Japan! :)
