Yup!
I think she even enter the final pose early.... for good measure.

Who won?
Thanks Finley. But I would have won either way.I thought the same!

The party is in the Alena K. thread :agree:
The Grand Prix final should be nuts with all of 4A there. And maybe Liza too or Zhenya.I deleted the last part because I don’t think there is a reason for negativity. If she will be clean, then there will be ROOM between her and Mariah. Actually, Alena and Alina got very strict deductions, probably the worst from the field and Alina’s lutz was totally panel created mistake and yet they are still 1-2 with a space. It’s fully in her hands exactly how she is used to.
Agree with their mistake about the music, but it’s not true there is not a place for mistakes. If first Lz is not stable enough, she can add Lo to the second. If her first 2A is weak, she can add that 3T to second or to Lutz or probably even Flip. I’m not sure if they will not backloaded 3lz-3Lo later, but the way how it’s planned now, there is a few rooms for variability.
And i was right about part u deleted, that other skater pcs was ridiculous and we all know why. And i meant in her sp Alina cant make a mistake otherwise she will get a time deduction coz she doesn’t have extra seconds to spare. And in FS that entry to her solo lz is too crazy to actually get right edge+complete rotation im amazed with Alina’s self control, she is a true fighter, but should’ve changed entry to a simple one to re-do her combo with no < to pick on. I’m so happy she still got her job done, silver is not worst case scenario here, as i said before, even tho they really tried to pressure her mentally with that deduction and edge call so she had to be nervous and change her technique right away and STILL got a ! ...i have no words. Alina is a true champion and i love her even more now.
You almost said she will be lucky if she will medaled. She fell. That happen. Wihout that fall she would be comfortably into second even with those ridiculous calls. I deleted it because this is Alina’s fsn fest and ypu were negative about her performance and questioning it without any reason in advance. Like her Step sequence. But I will not argue.
Her entries are crazy, but she has to be able to deliver it in practice. She will not get easy program, it’s now how it works in her group. It’s not even her style. She is not playing safe. She wants to push herself. This is mindset of champions. That’s why she was able to get all those trophies.
And in my opinion, Carmen were more difficult. She is starting this season with Lz-Lo at the beggining. This tech panel clearly hate her. Her Lz was Ok yesterday and I’d say not both today were wrong. She didn’t deserved 6 calls. It happened. Sometime skaters got calls they don’t deserve. Sometime in happen even when they in reality did the best in field. It’s unfair but unfortunatelly happening. I’m not counting her off. She got this. How much she struggled with Carmen and then killed it at words?
Thank you for supporting Alina there! Some people say Alina wasn’t skating as good as before, like she was tense? I didn’t see it even considering difficult skate. Can you share your live opinion, was energy lacking or smth like that ?Just came back from the arena (and some comfort food), mixed feelings about today.
Everyone was waiting whether Alina would attach the Lo to her crazy entry Lz and she did!!! It was unbelievably gutsy on her part!
She was smiling through the step seq and clearly enjoyed it. The audience gave her a standing ovation, we shouted and cheered like crazy
The scores were... erm... lower than expected, but oh well...
Alina knows how to fight, and fight she will at NHK, I'm sure!
I could not believe she decided to stick with that difficult transition there, it was incredible. With the fall I really think the unfair call yesterday could have thrown her off there. I hope she just trains like normal and doesn't try and change anything with the Lutz because of these calls. It's only one competition and I'm thinking it won't be repeated like this again.
There was absolutely no stress after the performance. She truly is skating for herself, and she has won absolutely everything so she has no worries. I'm excited to just see continual wonderful artistry and performance!
I'm so proud of Alina for putting in the 3loop in later and fighting till the end. She is a true champion, and I'm excited to see these programs get better and better as the season goes on. She's won everything but still keeps competing at such a high level. Amazing and kudos to her. I hope to see her compete for many more years.
I never said she wouldn’t medal, what? I just counted her possible scores with all the calls tech panel could possibly give her (couldnt imagine this many tbh coz her practice sessions were good....but thought about her trying to get more clear outside lz edge and failing the jump, that’s exactly what they wanted) plus pcs of ms Bell being around 70 (no surprise here...) and kind of clean skate...and she d get silver, in the end 3,17 point difference is not that much, imagine Alina actually falling on lutz and getting lower PCs plus deduction? Or her not re-doing loop combo successfully? They had awful plan against Alina for americans, they did smth similar to Liza T.
Sorry if i come off as ruining your fanfest, im just worried for Alina and there ARE reasons for that, i d rather be prepared for disappointment.
Considering programs, do u really believe she needs to struggle with her programs to get high scores? Nope, other people do just step transitions or none, jump with arms around body, no “image” or “story” and can pull off high scores both in tes and pcs. I really hope she learns a quad JUST to see more of her less busy skating without chopped music like in her new eX.

Alina looked and skated like a Queen today!
The way she added that 3Lo after the second 3Lz (with insanely difficult transition) is mind blowing. :eeking:
She's a fighter! No doubt about it. I believe she can get it done at NHK.
