Alina Zagitova

Notice another tape on the leg, guys. Plus she’s clearly still on the ice at all times, she was laughing with Danny G at that video with Anna and IG filter, plus a new photo is clearly in front of Sambo.

You don’t get multiple tapes by training halfheartedly, imo.

Let's see. So far to me it looks like training to stay in shape rather than competitive training. Alina was always training anyway and takes her training seriously. She was bothering their doctor even during the quarantine after all.

I agree! Weight-wise, she doesn't seem to be in competitive shape...I really hope we'll see her during the test skates!

If Alina trained just to stay in shape, I don't think she would have taken part in test skates.

How did you determine that Alina isn't in competitive shape. Just don't say that you understood this from photos. :rolleye:

I don't think that Alina would have entered the test skates if she hadn't been in good shape.

First of all to make it clear so that my message is not associated with weight. For me Alina looks to have good weight and I wouldn't mind even if she puts more. If you want to skate for many years you need to adjust to some kilos more. Alina keeping her shape for me means keep the levels on spins and have all her jumping content. Which I think what she is doing now.

To be competitive is the next step that needs to be added on top of that. That might be consistency and clean no under-rotation or new q signs on jumps. I'm not sure with the interruptions her training took during the last two months and coming from long break she achieved this level. Judging by other members of her team they don't look in fully competitive form yet. But yes Alina is more experienced than them and can reach the desired level quicker. Plus the fact that she is not yet announced which competitions she will participate in makes me say that so far she is keeping her shape.

Alina is too cute :luv17:  I hope some lovely fans will translate the episodes for us non-Russian speakers once the show starts :o:

She looks happy and healthy. As a fan, I can't ask for anything more. This is her one and only life and she gets to live it however she wants and I am just happy to get to see her enjoying it as much as possible.

I agree, I prefer to see her happy instead of struggling. She has a marvelous sport career, I wish her to succeed in whatever she does.

On a really bright note, it just dawned on me that we are about to get an avalanche of Alina content with her participation in Ice Age! Videos, photos, candids! I hope Free Skater is polishing his camera lenses getting ready to attend some Ice Age filming.

Given that Alina likes to carefully ration her social media content for the most part, this is going to be something to look forward to.

:ghug:

My mom was the biggest Michelle Kwan that ever was. So I grew up loving her skating and everything about her. And because she skated for so long it truly felt like I grew up with her. If she had won the OGM she might not have carried on skating for as long as she did and so many of my favorite routines may not have even existed. But the disappointment I felt at Nagano and the heartbreak of Salt Lake and then her withdrawal from Torino was just devastating.

As sad as I am that Alina might not skate in another Olympic games or Worlds, I wouldn't trade the feelings I had after her Olympic Victory and Saitama for anything. Especially Saitama. That was everything. She gave us that.

So whatever she decides to do I'm here for it. And very thankful to be able to share it with all of you. :thank:
