I want Alina back! But she needs to let the dust settle on this mess of a season. If Covid goe away she may come back. Why risk her health travelling to China Japan etc this season?

I want Alina and Zhenya vs. Sasha and Aliona with Anna and Kamila backing them up! But that will probably be next fall. I think EG thinks Zhenya returning will motivate Alina to come back to competition. EG is a mad scientist of sorts.

Alina does not hate Zhenya people! She had no where else to go. The pandemic changed everything. The Butcher (Buyanova) was not helping Medvedeva. She was not going back to Canada until next year. She needed an in person coach so...

I do not see Alina as an angry person. She has let alot of hate roll off her back. She will have a blast at Ice Age Kids and university and then she can come back. Liza just graduated from 4 year university and stayed very competitive. So it can be done! But I dont blame Alina for not wanting to skate this season. Its a disaster in the making. Especially with Russian fans not wearing masks.

Why would Alina skate this season? She knows 40% of her compatriot skaters if not more are injured or out of normal September shape. Its going to be a disastrous season. Not skating for 4 months set the skaters back alot and Alina knows this. She is smart. She can come back if she wants to. If she doesnt she has earned everyhting including her GOAT status.

I think Alina did the best thing by staying out of Test Skates. Who needed that circus with all the drama, and media filming coaches fishing for any clickbait photo.

it’s better for her mental health to sit out and go back to things slowly (if she wants that). There’s no season this year, let’s be real. whoever thinks Europeans or Worlds will be happening is seriously naive.
To go training just for Rus cup stages? Is it really a worthy comeback stage?

I‘m glad to see her getting so many good opportunities, she deserves the world and more. She should use this situation to think, assess and not rush with decisions.

For whatever her reasons, I think it is great that Alina is not competing this season.
Everything just seems so crazy now. For example I never thought there would be an audience at the test skates!

I do hope she decides to come back next season. I really do.

Maybe this can be a sort of "gap year" for her. Whatever she ultimately does, I'm sure it will be best for her.

3 beers is my maximum. I am a light weight.

Test skate was crazy. Thousands of fans without masks coughing sneezing etc. Many using restrooms a tthe same time. Sofia had a fever. Her coach is 80. I hope the Professor had a mask on.

Maybe Alinas parents are letting her know its risky in more ways than 1 this season. I hope she does a challenger if there are any. But if she chills out the whole season whatever this season is thats okay.

Not long ago Alina said "I'm taking a break but I'm not going anywhere" and "I want to have a long career", so, until she actually says: "I'm retiring", I'm holding on to those words and waiting for her comeback

I agree with those here who think that this season is more fake than real and I'm also not hopeful for a 4CC/Euros/WC happening next year. So probably, skipping this season won't have negative consequences, except maybe for national team selection, but even that is not the end of the world. Misha Kolyada is living proof of this.
