Someone come get this man. With a net. :palmf:

Guberniev: And what is your ideal man?

Zagitova: I don’t know, I didn’t think about this question.

Guberniev: Well, if live - what should be the ideal man? Kind, good, rich?

Tartakova: Who does not ask such questions, apparently.

Zagitova: Yes.

Guberniev: Doesn't look like me?

Zagitova: Uh-huh ...

Guberniev: This is already good, uh.

Jesus Christ... I can’t believe Alina has to deal with this bs every day.

not the first time when reporters and journalists are behaving themselves unprofessionally, inappropriately or asking weird questions.

besides, he along with Utkin, is one of the disgusting bunch, who attacked Alina relentlessly for not going to test skates this year, screaming “she’s done” on the top of their lungs. Then he goes and pulls out this bs.
I’m just wondering, what did this 18 year old ever do wrong in her life to be attacked this much by some middle aged men? I’m just so tired of this, why can’t they show just little respect for their only grand slam winner in FS?

Seriously. Nothing about this was 'cute'.

I think some people are in the process of explaining this to him in his Instagram comment section right now. 🔥

"Utkin the Incel" - who is the "ideal man" for nobody in the known universe.

I think the "Alina Zagitova Protection Squad" needs to be on high alert with these 2 bozos around.

I honestly don’t want to gaslight anyone, but here’s my take on this:

this was supposed to be an interview with the winner in one of the nominations, a congratulatory interview, which was recorded on channel’s Bday. It didn’t have to be overly sweet and sugary, but I was expecting something more lighthearted, not an interrogation and provocation, where she has to fight back on every question.

Instead, this guy, who already previously demonstrated some negativity towards Alina, kept bugging her with suggestive, provocative questions and was plain unprofessional.
Alina was uncomfortable and kept turning to the woman for support.
She even said “I think you’re trying to hurt my soul” to this dude, but then said “but you didn’t manage to do it”.

by suggestive/provocative I mean things like “does Yagudin irritate you?”, “you’re not on this ice anymore, only filming” (to which Alina replied she’s still “on the ice“) and so on.
Tartakova tried to make it more positive and playful, but looked like producers or at least this guy had only this interrogation on his agenda.

I was happy to see her, and I’m amazed at her power and mental fortitude to withstand this kind of treatment with dignity. But I wish she didn’t have to and could just relax.

I agree with you 100% on every point. You aren't gaslighting anyone. Everything you said is a straight up fact. I'll take it one step further - this guy has been nothing but publicly antagonistic toward Alina in the media since the day she won the OGM.

This was Alina's first appearance on this channel. Not one question about being the reigning World & Olympic champion. Not one clip shown of either victory.

I thought she totally handled him. Her poise and dignity just made him look cheap. He made himself look cheap trying to provoke her and stir up controversy. I was proud of her for not reacting. When someone is trying with everything they have to get you to react to them and you won't give them what they want - you win. Alina's composure was stronger than any of his attempts to get under her skin.

He really gave it his best shot. :rolleye: When he suggested that the Coach of the National Football Team, who also won an award, should pair skate with Alina.... :palmf: just please stop.

Him going down on one knee at the end, pretending he suddenly respected her, was just ridiculous. I felt for Alina in that moment. I don't know what she said when she was trying to get him to stand up and stop making a fool of himself, but probably something like 'you are embarrassing us both.'

Bringing this back to something positive - her fans voted very diligently for her to win this award and I am happy for her. Her fans love and support her and that is really heart warming. I am also happy that we got to see her. I'm sorry she had to put up with Guberniev's nonsense, but it was kind of cool to see that he couldn't get to her. She held her own but didn't allow herself to be baited. She could have shown attitude and he would have had it coming, but she was courteous, respectful and sincere. It made him look like a buffoon on his own show.

Alina may not be competing right now but we are seeing her move from strength to strength. She is getting better every week in Ice Age. She is at her best when she is just being herself. She showed us that again today.

Alina destroying anti-fans since 2018, translation: she’s very grateful to her haters because they motivate her a lot -

She came through so much pain, but hatred did not destroy her. You can see confidence in her eyes. Most importantly, she's always a kind girl. People tend to blame others for hurting them, but Alina chose to move on and live better. What a strong girl. :cheer2:

I agree with you too.
In a way, I feel like the experience of hosting Ice Age has helped Alina to deal better with this kind of situation where she gets asked something with a malicious intention and she has gotten better at detecting this and giving an appropiate answer/reaction quickly.

I'm really happy to see how good she has become at dealing with mean people and that she really doesn't seem bothered by negativity.
Go Alina!:hap10:

ETA: I'm also glad that Alina has always made it clear that she's uncomfortable in those situations. If there's a question, comment or action that makes her uncomfortable, she'll let people know she doesn't like it.

If I had a dollar for every time Alina's rational behavior made these so-called "adults" look like the petty brats they truly are....

I would be typing this response from my mansion in the Hollywood Hills.

Alina can certainly handle these cretins on her own.
But part of me wishes her father would take someone like this Goober-niev and spank him like the whiny toddler he is.

At first, I wondered why Alina and her team agreed to receive the interview with such an awful guy. Thanks Finley for sharing the whole interview translation, after reading it, I really felt annoyed but at the same time, I like Alina's reaction. It's typical Alina, forthright and strong.
Alina and her team definitely knew, she would talk with a guy who always showed hostility to her. The whole interview might be tougher than she anticipated but this doesn't mean she didn't make full preparation before the interview.
I truly appreciated her attitude. She refused to answer the question if she didn't like it. She was not trying to make drama to please everyone. She was not trying to become a purely sweet and friendly princess. Alina always refused to talk about Zhenya personally and I think she will never talk about her in the future. People like to make fuss about these two girls but Alina has right to focus on herself and positive things. Apparently, she's a shiny star who doesn't need to rely on others to gain attention.
Meanwhile, It's Guberniev who should feel embarrassed. He tried to annoy her all the time, but Alina showed her sincerity and great power. He might thought Alina should accept his disgusting attitude passively to maintain her kind and warm image, but Alina is a true warrior. She expressed her feelings directly with dignity. 'Yes, I know your purpose, but you will never succeed.' This attitude will upset all these haters because they are so childish, ignorant and shallow comparing with Alina.
I respect this young lady. She inspires me a lot.
