Alina Zagitova

I just hope they won't make "sensational anticipation" out of that note. I would be truly glad for it but media (all over the world) can completely ruin that by their attitude.
You and I both know that is exactly what they are going to do. The good thing is that I think by this point Alina has an armor built up around herself to protect her sanity and peace of mind. She's had three years of practice at this. I may be projecting but I don't think that Alina will let the media's attitude dictate her future. Not saying she's immune to it, but if anything she will use it for fuel.

Thinking of her words: "I haven't changed, I just got smarter."

She certainly did.

I cannot express my feelings precisely. To be honest, I dreamed about her return many times. I hoped she can challenge herself again even though it seems to be an impossible task due to her age, injuries and many other factors. Sometimes, I doubt the fact that she kept training so hard as before. If she doesn't return, there's no need to train a lot.
However, when she said she had a desire to return. My first response is "DON'T DO THAT BABY" FS is so crucial and she has already suffered a lot. She would sacrifice a lot if she wanted to return. And she will receive much more reproaches than any other athletes as before:palmf:What's more important is that she definitely need time to study for the future. When she sees and tries more, she will find that the world is so big, full of uncertainties, happiness and surprises. She will live a brighter life than most of Russian fs athletes.
Maybe I love her both as an athlete and a sweet young girl. I hope she can make history in FS, but I also hope she stay away from people who are short-sighted and full of negative emotions.
Anyway, it's all up to her. Inside, she is still that kind girl, but she has become smarter and more confident. Good Luck to our dear Alina no matter what decision she will make. Time will give us the answer.:coffee:
I read this comment on Sports.ru -

When you see how all the skaters are tense during the competition, that they won't even smile once again, what kind of press they have to cope with, and then you look at Alina at the official pause, how smiling, joyful she is, then you don't even know if your desire is so huge for her back to plunge into this competitive fc atmosphere. But I really want to see her return, very much.

I think we all feel this contradiction. On one hand - 'yes! come back!' On the other hand - just getting to enjoy seeing her move from strength to strength and conquer new horizons. No more torture!

This, also from Sports.ru comment section -

I read the entire interview. You know, just like a journalist, I was impressed. Every time I read her interview, look at her, I see HUGE potential as a person and a person. It has no ceiling. And everyone feels it. Alina has long been no longer just a skater, and I don't even see the point of comparing her with someone. She's the only one. I am sure that the time will come when those people who spoke badly about her for whatever their reasons, will only respect her and admire her. This is already happening now. She is a Big Person. A person with an inner light, with the ability to inspire and magically influence people. This is a very rare gift. And over time, this gift will develop even more. It is very interesting what it will be like in 5-10 years.

I would also like to say that it would be incredible happiness to see her again at the competition. For me, as an admirer of her talent and respecting her as a person, it does not matter at all what others will say and what marks will be given to her by the judges. Its very appearance on the ice is already invaluable!

Oh, I don't even know if I want Alina's return or not. On the one hand, without Alina at the competition, figure skating was empty; sorry, but the new champions don't catch on. On the other hand, you should look at the current filth and squabble in FC and think, why should Alina come back here? Everything is fine with her, her studies, the demand for shows and on TV, she is young, happy, healthy, and all the best is yet to come. One thing I can say for sure, I will support Alina in any decision

Butyrskaya

“Now she will see how the girls perform at the World Championships and will decide. If she wants to win something, then she needs to improve. This person can do anything. It all depends on her desires and goals. She is not so many years old, I would like to see her more."- quotes Butyrskaya in 'Sports Express'

Me too, Maria.

Kogan :palmf:

- All skaters turn to the Federation when they have any difficulties. We are happy to help them all. Alina has not yet dealt with any difficulties. She is a member of the Russian national team. It's surprising to me that you ask me to decipher Alina's words, - Kogan was surprised.

“Perhaps you know the reasons why she didn’t come back.

- Alina did not go anywhere. I think it is wrong to say that she did not come back.

Kogan, please put down the crack pipe. This is embarrassing. 'Alina has not yet dealt with any difficulties.' Are you out of your mind? What do 'difficulties' look like to you? Never mind. I don't think I want to know. :rolleye:

I have a sneaking suspicion that at least one of the 'factors/moments/nuances' (whatever they translate as) = the Rusfed being absolute rats. :bang:

Averbukh

Producer, choreographer and director Ilya Averbukh answered the words of Olympic champion Alina Zagitova about her desire to return to the ice.

- Alina is a very talented and purposeful person. She has all the possibilities if she decides for herself. Of course, a tremendous job will have to be done, because it is necessary to restore old jumps, and then learn at least a triple axel and a quadruple jump. I am sure that for such a talented skater like Alina, nothing is impossible, - quotes Averbukh "Sport-Express".

That's fair.

Maybe it's helpful not to be the 'favorite'. Alina was never the favorite. I'm not saying she wasn't loved/liked/respected. But anyone with eyes could see she wasn't Eteri's favorite. She wasn't the Federation's favorite. Or the media's.

TAT was pretty clear that 'everyone' loved another skater more. (I will still never get over her 'explaining' that to Alina's Dad on television. :palmf: Really, TAT? To his everlasting credit, he didn't even blink at her words. I guess he has had a lot of practice dealing with bs from coaches throughout his hockey playing career.)

Trankov had no problem saying 'no-one' was rooting for Alina to win the Olympics. :palmf: I'm not even going to comment on this statement. He got punished enough.

Layshev, the director of her school, talking about another skater and thanking her, when he was publicly accepting an award for Alina. No words.

To be clear - all of this sucks. But it made Alina self sufficient. She learned not to hold her breath waiting for people to validate her because it's probably not happening. Good thing she doesn't like praise or compliments because she sure as heck wasn't getting any from some quarters.

Alina never had a special relationship either from the coach or from the federation. She used to achieve everything herself. Therefore, even now it does not require a special attitude for itself.

Alina turning in full competitive mode would be so exciting. Of course she needs to work to regain her previous shape but we know how diligent she is when she has a goal.
It took Liza Tuk a few seasons off to deal with the changes brought on by maturity. Alina has at least a chance.

The one difference, and it is a HUGE difference, is the motivation. That OGM. Alina already has it. How do you find the motivation to put yourself through hell for a chance to maybe get another chance to possibly get something you already have? Especially when the whole world is laying out new, exciting, interesting and challenging opportunities for you. And these opportunities are both immensely profitable and don't involve actual self-inflicted physical torture.
:(

Ok, now you're just making it weird, Sports 24.

Zagitova showed a huge bouquet of roses worth 160 thousand rubles received as a gift : photos and videos
instagram.com/azagitova

Olympic champion, world and European champion Alina Zagitova posted on Instagram a photo with a huge bouquet of red roses in her hands. The skater did not say who gave her flowers, but it can be assumed that the bouquet was presented to the athlete by one of her personal fans.

The bouquet for Zagitova was purchased at one of the Moscow flower and gift services. This was confirmed by the company itself. The bouquet consists of 1001 roses and costs 160,900 rubles.

“It's cool, of course, that such an order was made for such a great athlete with us. We know who Alina Zagitova is, so we can only be happy for her. We are glad to please people with the help of our flowers, ”the flower and gift service manager told Sport24.

Well it was mean from TAT and from the people who stated that Alina won because she was lucky. She definitely showed them it wasn’t not luck when she won the worlds and proved she deserved the olympic title.

unlike people who had no tact Alina had the decency to stay humble and not showing her happiness because she knew her role model was upset and sad. Alina certainly felt uncomfortable after the olympics but after the worlds she showed us how happy she was on the podium.

I remember he was one of those elites who kept disgracing Alina and trying to sell " two champions" concept before working with Alina closely in Ice Age. The world changes so fast.:drama:

OMG, this is kind of new complaint....At least he didn't say Alina is lazy, fat or lack of motivation:unsure: Alina and her fans have already been immune to these filthy people and speeches. They really try hard to embarrass themselves now. :coffee:

Alina's "Esmeralda" won in the 'clash of the titans' against Yuzuru in the final round of the online vote on MatchTV insta for the best "Notre Dame de Paris" programme :)
