Iriska's debut on Japanese television. Watching it now it's like an Iriska tribute video. She gets almost as much camera time as Alina.

:(

“A cat, two chinchillas, live with me in Moscow. I talk to them, even what I can't share with my parents. I know that my animals will never betray me. I understand that they understand me "

“My figure skating career as a Senior started with great success when I won the Grand Prix Final in 2017 and the Russian Championship later that year. In January 2018 I won the European Championship and just one month later I fulfilled every figure skaters dream — I took gold at the PyeongChang Olympics.

There was one last step to winning all existing major titles - the World Championship in March 2018. I believed I could do that. I tried my best, but only placed 5th, which became a huge challenge for me. I had to start again, fight myself and commit my training and my mind to the goal.

After a long and hard year of training and finishing second at the European Championship in January 2019, to say I was nervous before the World Championship in Japan in March 2019... well, that would be an understatement.

Thanks to the support from my team, my family, and fans I managed to overcome all obstacles to win the gold.

I remember the moment I learned that I now had all of the world’s figure-skating titles… it was a dream come true.

Being committed to your goal, working hard and getting support from the people you care about is what makes a real champion.”

@azagitova your journey inspires us every single day. #SheMovesUs

From the comment section of Sports.ru -

Toffee has definitely lived a dignified and happy life. Not every cat is given to be mourned on the main sports resource of the country. Rest in peace.

“Sometimes I come in the afternoon, go to rest after training, and Toffee (cat - approx.) Climbs on me, and Masaru lies down next to the sofa. And grandmother protects our sleepy kingdom, sits quietly in the kitchen, does not rattle. We have a quiet hour ... "

Really sad about Iriska. And she had no idea how famous and loved she was! Such a wonderful friend to Alina, when she needed a friend the most.

Can’t believe I just watched the entire video about Iriska and Alina without understanding a word. Has no one ever translated it from Japanese? It would be great to know what everyone is saying.
