Another day at World's, another judging controversy. The more things change, the more they stay the same. This year I'm just going to enjoy the skating and save my sanity. It makes for much more peaceful viewing.

This article on Sports.ru about the scores Alina received from three judges at the 2018 Olympic Games is quite a long read. Nothing we didn't already know but an incredible level of detail and a truly CSI worthy breakdown of the numbers! to the author. Talk about bringing the receipts.

Why is it relevant now? Judge #7 is judging the Ladies competition in Stockholm. And it looks like things do change! Her scoring is now favorable to all three of the Russian women. It makes for an interesting comparison to her judging at the Olympics.

Well, I watched Carmen again before the final group, had quite some wine and chocolate, listened to Chaikovski with Anna, and I can say that the crown went to the deserving head of a real warrior!

Hard to believe that Anna and Sasha are the same age as Alina was in Satiama. It is their second senior season, but somehow I still perceive them as very young and everyone is worried that their parents couldn’t be there.

Which only shows how fast Alina had to mature, how much she had to endure and experience in a only couple of years. And how unnecessarily harsh everyone was. But all is well when it ends well. She won everyone’s respect by going through the challenges with so much dignity and grace.

Based on this article, this judge seems to be least favorable to Anna...
funny that there are several parallels between Anna and Alina.
from the expectation of her not delivering here and her doing so despite all odds, making that Lz-Lo save and the same exact RUSSIAN judge disliking them both.
