Alina Zagitova

Rus Fed being Rus Fed. From FSO -

Alexander Gorshkov: “Zagitova has every right to train in Novogorsk. To do this, she does not need to be on the lists of the Russian national team "

https://rsport.ria.ru/20210531/zagitova-1734950479.html

And Zhulin being Zhulin. From Sports.ru -

I think he is really reaching here. Alina can skate in Khrustalny with her coaches and former team-mates whenever schedules permit. Seeing how last season's training in Novogorsk turned out; I think Alina choosing to return to Novogorsk now demonstrates a different level of commitment. Especially since she hasn't had a proper family vacation in over a year and her trip to Japan (as wonderful as it was) can't be considered a true 'vacation'.

A little positivity to counteract the unpleasant dose of Gorshkov & Zhulin  -

Here's what subscribers wrote in the comments:

“Alina is fighting, although she does not shout about it at every step. With your body, leadership, etc. But let's just support her regardless of the result! Our clever girl. "

“Be healthy, our champion! We love you!"

“That is, they are seriously trying to prove to us that Alina does not want to perform. And she goes to Novogorsk for training camps instead of a seaside vacation. I don’t believe, I don’t believe, I don’t believe ... Alina of fruitful training. ”

And some cuteness :)

No.

But we don't get a vote.

Do I want to see Alina skate again? Yes. No question. Competitively. Maybe. IF, and only IF, that's what she truly wants for herself. Knowing that decision could lead to serious long-term physical and emotional pain for Alina makes it hard to be 100% enthusiastic. If I'm honest, I've enjoyed Alina's activities during her 'break'. I'd be happy to see more of the same.

The idea of Alina never having to deal with Rus Fed ever again fills me with joy. If she chooses to put herself in the situation where they hold all the cards and she is at a disadvantage then I will support that choice out of respect. No matter what I think about it.

I'm glad to see her there. It may not work out the way she wants. You can't win everything but it's good to know you fought.

Do you think that her being in Novogorsk means that she is planning to return...? Seeing as she is not a part of the National Team, would she even be eligible for Grand Prixs?

I am excited to see her there too but I really think its out of habit and wanting to keep her jumps rather than attempting quads. Maybe she will perform in upcoming shows that we don't know about yet?

Seeing Tat, Zhulin and everyone under the sun still commenting on Alina's every move worries me (just think about the pressure if she does attempt a comeback...😓)

Do we know when the Olympic event is happening where Alina will be one of the captains?

I definitely think she wants to keep her jumps and I am sure she will perform in many upcoming shows yet to determined.

It is kind of depressing. Why are they so personally invested in being 'right' about this? Either she can make a comeback or she can't. Why do they care one way or the other?

This is just my personal opinion, (and I'm not happy about it): it almost feels like even though Alina can't be forbidden to try the results are already a foregone conclusion. :( Either she gets injured like last summer and we get another round of 'I told you so' articles from TAT, Zhulin and Gorshkov. Or she can't perfect a triple axel and/or multiple quads and we get another round of 'I told you so' articles. There are no words for how much I want to be wrong about both of these scenarios.

Having expressed that opinion, I will continue to be positive about Alina and her chances because, why not? It's not fun being negative. Alina said support from her fans helps so she will definitely have mine no matter what.

This is not a thing.

I totally agree...these trolls (let's be real, that's what they are) have too much time on their hands...). Zhulin should focus on Vika and Nikita and stfu about singles skater when he has never been one nor trained one. Tat is just messy af (and hasn't achieved results in 100 years so maybe just be gracious for once). I started to admire and love Alina even more for handling everything she had to face so graciously...I mean, how could a 15 year old have more class in her pinkie than Tat has shown in over 70 years...

I too will cheer for Alina wherever her path will lead her :love2: Maybe she will come back for one final season (GP Final '19 shouldn't be the last competition😭), if not, good for her!! She will never live to Tat and everyone's expectations as they can't seem to get over the fact that she deservedly won against Zhenya in 2018. She is a beautiful young girl with every opportunity possible (and significant financial means!). Everything she gives us is just the cherry on top :)

About that Olympic thing, I believe I read online that some company will hold an event/competition with three teams and Alina will be one of the Captains...? (Can't remember the site, though...)

:ghug:

Also I am petty enough to hope that Zhulin, TAT and Gorshkov's never-ending nastiness motivates Alina all the way to the Olympic Team. I want to watch their heads explode.

I will now go sit in a corner and think about how to become a better person. Scratch that. After dealing with the ads on this forum I feel like I have been punished enough. :drama::bang:

My soul is cleansed.

Same  World's 2019 was incredible but hearing TAT lose it was AMAZING :love2:

She has said in the past that negativity motivates her (think Ashley Wagner motivating her straight to the OGM :thank:)

Btw, the Sambo rink is apparently undergoing reconstruction (no ice in the rink currently)

I am happy no matter what Alina does, and I am very happy to see her show up in Novogorsk - it's a surprise (to me). A seemingly natural thinking was, well, she's not in the national team, so .... But she is Alina. Why is she there? Does she plan to get an untra-c? Or just keep herself in shape? Hello, does that matter? :) Ahh, it probably matters, but seeing her in Novogorsk already made me very happy.

Couldn’t agree more. Everyone know how hard her team’s training is, especially before Olympic season. She chose to go there which means she will work hard as others not just try to keep fit. It’s not a wise choice in others’ opinion. But I’m just happy that she keeps fighting.
Frankly speaking, we cannot expect quads because it seems impossible in every way. But who cares:coffee: Why should Alina be distracted by ridiculous nonsense:poop:
Many of us thought she wouldn’t go to training with the team this summer. The fact tells us, we made mistakes, AGAIN:ROFLMAO: It’s totally a surprise for Zagistan, so why not be happy and wish her a great time? The only thing I ‘m worried is the potential injury. God bless our beautiful girl, hope she keep healthy and happy.

I would just add that most of the team usually goes to Novogorsk every year no matter whether they are a part of the national team or not, incl. the little skaters. Litke this time:

Elena and Daria are too young to be even part of the junior national team, but they are in Novogorsk like previous years other skaters were.

I don't think there is a need to explain anything in this particular case. Alina is in Novogork as part of Team Tutberidze (Limited). Plus now there are not any strict covid restrictions so she can leave and be back if needed even within a single day. It's 45 min drive from Moscow anyway.

Yeah, I don’t get those Leonova-Zhulin-TAT interviews. It’s not a National team summer camp, it’s team Tutberidze camp. Each team manages those things separately, but each team tries to bring all their students to summer.

as for the rest... let’s just stay positive, wait and see. What happens - happens! :)
Hope Alina has a good time during her summer training.

couple of idiots that call themselves sports journalists (specializing on fs at that!) decided that since Novogorsk is national team training centre only national team members are allowed to train there at any time; Gorshkov explained to them they were morons to think that; but the wave had started and other idiots started their usual "expert ring-around", hyping on Alina and getting clicks & views, as usual. nothing new.

IOC instagram! :D

Yeah, I still remember several photos of little Nikolay, Veronika and another girl in the Novogorsk summer camp, two years ago, one showing them sitting together, another swimming, very cute!
