Alina Zagitova

Thanks for the explanation on GP @zounger and @JazzUp . Should have been obvious aggh!

Anyway to shift topics to something involving Alina in relation to her trip to Japan and COVID as well as almost all athletes.

I understood many if not most of the Russian FS team were exposed or got sick with Covid, mostly not serious cases but still. I never heard if Alina got it, a friend who is the biggest fan of hers I know in real life claims she is one of the healthiest skaters. Well aside that I saw a post on mother's day from Nathan Chan (a wonderful post on a pic with his mom) saying all his family have been vaccinated. I wasn't sure he was and of course given his age alone he would be lower priortiy. On the other hand especially in light of the upcoming games I was wondering if vaccination would be mandatory for the participants and if Russia's team as well as other countries have been making efforts in this regards.

P.S. Got my Pfizer doses myself.
I got Pfizered as well. 🥂

I know that Irina Slutskaya has spoken publicly about being vaccinated recently. So good on her for that!

Alina will take part to Moskvina anniversary show in S. Petersburg at 26 September.

Can you give the link with the correct translation?
@JazzUp can you please provide the correct translation. I found interesting what you said. Personally I did google translate. I tried to rearrange the Japanese characters a bit and was getting the same meaning.

TeamZagitova here https://www.instagram.com/p/CPiz-f1J1Bd/ in page 7. which I guess someone hep them to do the translation from Japanese to Russian, also says that "...Russian Federation didn't give her permission..."

Thanks in advance.

So starting to build the timeline for the new season. First event we know Alina is planning to participate is Moskvina's anniversary show on 26 September.

Interestingly Nobelhorn https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2021_CS_Nebelhorn_Trophy this season will take place on 22-25 September. I t will be an interesting event considering it will be Olympics qualifier for many skaters. We have some great memories from Alina participation there, it will be nice to see her there again. It has also gala usually. The fact that there is one day difference with 26 is not a big problem since Alina showed this season for example that can skate in one day difference (Mishin anniversary show - Ice Age gala in March).

I’m so freaking scared. I think I will take the moderna in the middle or end of this month.
My husband and daughter are already vaccinated not fully yet but they are fine and they keep asking me to do it because they are afraid of contaminating me.

I was wondering if the athletes and coaches will also get the covid vaccine.

Good to know, but I wouldn't hold my breath for it...I will be overjoyed if we get to see her at a challenger if only to really get a befitting goodbye and to erase the memory of the FP in the GP final

I accidentally stumbled across a twitter convo where someone talked about Rozanov and men in fs getting too close to teenage girls. Someone mentioned the rumour that Alina is being groomed as well (apparently she is dating a hockey player who lives in the states, plays for the NHL and seems to be older...).

I have heard the rumor that she is dating a hockey player and assumed it was a young player from CKSA or something (I love and admire Alina but her private life is nobody's business so I never bothered).

But the twitter convo has not left my mind since as I find the thought of Alina being anything near groomed unbearable.

I assumed that you guys are more trust-worthy and informed than some twitter experts which is why I would like to ask you for your opinion (I hate gossip, but this thought is just scary so please tell me I don't have to worry )

I was scared too, but I was more scared not to get it. I'm very glad I did. I had almost zero side effects after both rounds of the vaccine. I felt tired for a day or so. That's it. My friend who is a nurse had about a week of feeling like crap after her second shot but not enough to miss work. She did say 'it kicked her butt.' Another friend felt bad for 2 weeks :( but again not enough to miss work.

One thing about having side effects is that you know your immune system kicked in and built the antibodies. Which is exactly what it is supposed to be doing. I was a little worried that maybe my vaccine didn't 'take' because I was expecting side effects and didn't have any. But there are many people who don't have any side effects at all and I did feel tired for a day afterwards. When I say tired I mean I slept in, got up and laid on the sofa, took a nap, did nothing, took another nap, did more of nothing and went to bed. :dbana:

Helpful hints from my nurse friend - drink lots of water before and after. The first night after your second vaccine take a Tylenol PM (or any over-the-counter acetaminophen) just in case. And if possible take the next day off work, just in case. That last one is from me. :)

Also, the shot itself is nothing. I've been afraid of needles my entire life and avoided shots whenever possible. Both vaccines were so simple and pain free that I've been cured of that phobia. My arm was sore afterwards but I don't see how it couldn't be a little sore after a vaccine.

Good luck, Lechat! Bonne Chance! I hope all goes well.

Alina is already legally an adult. She’s not a child anymore. Of course in the eyes of her family and partially in our eyes she’s still a kid, understandably she’s still really young.
Legally she’s been past the age of consent in Russia for several years, which is the age of 16. Past 16 y.o. any person in Russia can make their own life choices in terms of choosing their partners.

The way you’re putting it, it’s becoming a strange topic to discuss, I generally find your post a bit bizarre. She’s free to date whoever she wants, whichever age they are and whatever occupation they have. If it’s a hockey player, a chef, a model, a poet, who cares? It’s her life, she should follow her heart and be with whomever she wants to be with. She’s not breaking any laws and not engaging in any illegal activity by having relationships, neither is her alleged partner. Just let it be, and don’t pay too much attention to rumors on Twitter.

Alina looks like a munchkin from Khrustal'nyi herself in this photo :ROFLMAO:

although Alexandre from CSKA made sure everyone knew who this munchkin was with his caption: "The best figure skater and some noname". :)
from Alexandre's interview:
"- You've met with the Olympic champion in figure skating Alina Zagitova in Novogorsk, what are your impressions, how did it happen?
- The impressions from the meeting with such a famous athlete are the most positive. I was surprised by her modesty and kind heartedness."
