On a sadder note, I have lost so much respect for so many of my childhood (and now adulthood) skating idols. Why do they have to be like this?

The vaccine rollout is slow in Japan. Alina had to quarantine for a week before her promotional tour, reserving an entire floor of a hotel where she was staying. Alina had a busy schedule during her stay, including a film promotion and au 5G×Figure Skating, which was actually the main thing:

I was referring to the short clip which was posted by Jazzup filmed by Alina's sister who I don't think went to Japan with her. It may be in Russia (where vaccine takeup is also pretty low apparently due to public reluctance) folks are wearing masks in public parks.

Anyway, good lord is that other issue with Oksana Baiul's post on IG - my weekly cringe. What turned her so nasty? Alina's answer (thanks Google) was class. Apparently Ms. Baiul continued on another post but Google made even less sense but what I could glean from the comments the majority are supporting Alina. The whole thing is just weird and doesn't make sense when we have really serious stuff going down both in the world and in the more narrow world of FS like the whole mess with Aljona Savchenko makes me sad.
