- Your performance in Saransk, where you made no serious mistakes, was quite different from the previous one in Bratislava. As if a key switched, and you again became like in your first Gran-prix stage of last season, which you won unquestionably: an iron, self-confident woman.
- This is such a business: if it switched on for one time, it can switch off for the other. Therefore one must not rely only on some definite feelings and think “OK, everything will be good!” I prefer to make up my mind with no worry and work, work, work.
- Last season you told, that you didn’t understand the reason of your mistakes. Did you sort out, what happened with you at that time?
- Not really. But my coach and me worked hard about it and discussed the process. One of the probable reasons is a puberty age. Last season - is all an incomprehensible situation.
- I immediately remember Lipnitskaya’s words, that a puberty age is not only physical changes, but it is when the head “is stormy”!
- Exactly! Psychology changes a lot, too. I study to cope with my mood, on my trainings also. Not to give way to my unnecessary emotions.
- This spring you finished your study at school. Graduation class coincided with your second adult season, when you became famous. How did your classmates see your new status?
- My classmates never treated me as a superstar, and I’am grateful to them for this. Also my class teacher treated me as a common girl. It is more comfortable for me. It is incorrect to dispose oneself above other’s. I really loved my class and my school!
- Your teachers, didn’t they make no indulgences according to your sport career?
- Yes, of course! They helped me. I also got ready to the exams in additionally lessons. Wasted much nerves. But all is well, that ends well. When I entered university, I jumped full of joy throughout my room.
- What university you entered?
- РГУФК (Russian State University of Physical Culture and Sport)
- What were you graduation examinations at school?
- Russian language, algebra and biology. The last one was necessary to enter university.
- It happens, that you are recognized at street or in shop?
- No, as usual it does not happen. I exploit public transport without being recognized. But sometimes on the rink some moms ask to photo with their’s childs.
- Do you dream about your own car?
- Yes. When I reach 18, I’ll think about it. To go by car will be more convenient. It takes 10 minutes to get to the rink by car.
- Taking into consideration your appearance, had you offerings to advertise anything?
- Generally, I do like photo shoots (smiles). But I had no offerings. I’ ll consider them, if they appear.
- In photo sessions you like process of changing costumes?
- Yes! Especially today, when my figure turned from childish to female. Although I must choose XS size. I really enjoy shopping with my mom, she helps me a lot.
- Had an occasion to pamper yourself by a dress or dream shoes?
- Only a new i-phone. Previous one was broken, so I had to order a new one. But it was an emergency purchase.
- Frankly, I didn’t expect such an answer. What about spontaneous shopping for pleasure?
- I try to lead myself in reasonable limits. I’am only 17. And after all, where I’ll go in a luxurious expensive dress?
- Where? To the party after some tournament, of course!
- It is only for one evening. And after it, it will the rest of the life hang in the wardrobe. What for?
- Heels or flat?
- As usual, I put on convenient footwear. I have high boots with sole as in sneakers. I like heels, but it is hard to wear such shoos, and not healthy. Especially for us, people who spend much time in skates. But it, of course, is beautiful. So, in special occasions, I put on high-heel shoes. I have 2 pairs: one are very comfortable, others, on the contrary, are utter torture.
- But, for sure, very nice?
- Yes, they are nice, damn it (laughs)!
- This season all the leading national team skaters are in action. Lipnitskaya and Sotnikova have returned. And now in the russian nationals minimum 6 skaters will struggle for podium.
- So splendid! It spurs a lot!
- Even irrespective off, that there are only 3 quotes to international competitions...
- What a piiity... But there is nothing to be done. I’ll fight.
- Many people tell about you: Pogorilaya is a Character. Do you feel it yourself?
- Maybe... yes. Without character one can’t make a road in our sport. Nowadays me and my coach work much to address character to the right direction.

- Yes, in my childhood. But today I can find understanding with my coach.
- Your nowadays programs were staged by Nikolai Morozov. Did he suggest ideas?
- Yes, but afterwards we all worked together.
- This year you again use ballet theme. Firebird was previous. And today is Scheherazade...
- I seem to be interested in such images. But we had no special task to choose something from the ballet. We heard music, tried to express it on the ice and understood - that it!
- One of the most popular performances of Nikolai Morozov is a “Swan lake” in hip-hop style, performed by Daisuke Takahashi. Are you theoretically ready to similar bold experiments?
- In principle, yes. But I understand, that to make such a program, one must work hard additionally. Me, as many other skaters, feel well classics. We worked such choreography. But hip-hop is another thing at all.

Infortunately, Anna did'nt performed very well to day, in spite of a good start (great first combo !) Podium missed by 0.12 points ! That's sad to think she has probably lost most of her chances to qualify for final, and that in the event she won two years ago when she started in Senior Grand Prix ...

I also am sad she didn't make the podium but it's okay
This way instead of the GPF she'll have lots of time to prepare for Nationals, which is really the most important competition for her anyway

I liked her arms movement and overall improvement in "elegance" departament today. She doesn't have so much innate grace as other Russian babies, but seems to be working on that and imo effects are visible.
I guess huge jumps and fine looks do not harm as well...

Today I watched gala with Russian Eurosport commentary, they said Anna and her coach themselves asked to gala organizers not to include her, as they said it was some health issues.

Good Luck Anna, you can finish second and qualify yourself for Barcelona. You have already beaten Wagner and Miyahara in the Skate Canada 2014.
